Star News Issue 3.30 Volume 14

Recently Star News had the very rare opportunity to interview the Mand'alor A'denla Kad and a couple of his people on Taanab. We also took the opportunity to find out a little more about Taanab in general. 

Star News: "Can you please state your names and group affiliation for the readers?

"A'denla Kad: "A'denla Kad, born of Clan Socarras." He said harshly, "Mand'alore, leader to all Mandalorian Clans."

Nicci Ordo: "Nici Ordo.  Alor of Clan Ordo, I'm a Mandalorian," she said, in a kind of sarcasm for her group affiliation.

Jemma: "Jemma Solus, Alor of Runi." 

Star News: "About the Mandalorians... once there was a great number of them.. but in recent times it seems there has been a decline..

Nicci Ordo: "Mandalorians have been everywhere.  We are on Onderon frequently, as well as our capital of Keldabe."

Mand'alore A'denla Kad: "Keldabe in the Mandalore Sector is our Capital, this settlement is one of many settlements spread across the galaxy. We are a nomadic people. Villages and settlements tend to rise from one day to the next. I have been having The Clans focus on each other, strengthening one another, rather than burning the next closest world on the map. This is most likely why we seem.. Quiet."

Jemma: "There are several clans in the lower levels over Bakura as well.  Perhaps you're just not looking hard enough for us."

Star News next asked about Taanab and the Mandalorians interest in it

Mand'alore A'denla Kad:  "If there was any grand scheme behind this village, I wouldn't throw it out for the galaxy to see. In regards to this settlement, It's a farming village, where some Mandalorian Settlers have seen fit to harvest. Steady relations with the city by those living here may assure a profitable trade, mostly in.. food"

Nicci Ordo grinned a bit: "Yes, we grow food here for when we are not eating civilians you know,"

Jemma:  "As the mand'alor said, we're a nomadic people.  Where one goes, others tend to follow.  Many of us have come in hopes of a fresh start, away from laws and regulations of other 'civilizations'."

Star News: "In modern times we have seen an insurgencey of Sith action.. with the Sith Empire claiming that they will bring 'peace' to all planets, and we have also seen GAR activly fending off Sith attacks on Jedi sponsored worlds and establishing strong holds everywhere... where do the Mandos stand in this conflict?"

Mand'alore A'denla Kad: would heave a light shrug, "Recently, there were rumors that The Sith Empire may try to impose Military action on Onderon. The Onderonian people are not only a valued ally of the Mandalorian Clans, but the Dxun moon is sacred to us, and there are Clans that make their living within Iziz. If it comes to that, then I will mobilize and meet them.. otherwise, we have a Trade Agreement with them that has been very profitable, and I hope it remains."

Dantooine Lives!

For a while now rumors of some catastrophic event have circulated around the galaxy about Dantooine, and travelers to that once lush planet have either been turned away or landed in barren fields. Gone where the cities, temples and streets we once knew, along with the Dantooine Jedi Enclave. Star News did some digging and was able to contact one of the DJE council members to find out just what happened and what the future has in store for this once quiet active community. 

Star News: "Greetings. welcome to Exis Station. location of Star News. So can you till me about what is going on with Dantooine ?"

DJE Council Member Karu smiled to the reporter: "Well, currently Dantooine is under reconstruction. Rebuilding from the flames after being consumed by an Evil Darkside Obelisk of some sort that destoryed much of our surface."

Star News: "Where are the civilians and knights holding out at while Dantooine is being reconstructed?"

DJE Council Member Karu: "Currently, we are staying in tents and small dwellings until the completion of our new temple. From there, we will reside in it as we rebuild more permanent structures to dwell in. it will be a long road to recovery, but many of our Jedi and citizens are pitching in to help."

Star News: "Are you looking for outside help from other Jedi Enclaves like on Yavin and Tython?"

DJE Council Member Karu: "The kind Jedi of Yavin have offered their assistance time and time again. So far though, we have not needed their help as Dantooine is still a lush and abondantly filled with resources. But we will always keep them in mind if we do need help. GAR has also offered their assistance as well helping us rebuild Dantooine. We are building an outpost for them as well, to help guard Dantooine on our downtime."

Star News: "So after everything is rebuild. What is next for DJE?"

DJE Council Member Karu smiled at here again and said: "After the rebuild of DJE and Dantooine, it will be business as usual. But this time however, we will have a renewed sense of solidarity and brotherhood.. not only within our Jedi order, but with the citizens as well. We have turned this rough time, into something more rich and rewarding. Together, we stand united."

Star News: "What is your thought on the growing threats from byss and the other Sith? It's rumored that more and more Jedi are going to dark side."

DJE Council Member Karu: "Indeed. The sith are growing in numbers. But the lightside will always prevail, for even the darkest of times, a little bit of light is all that is needed to overcome and out shine the dark. The Force always favors a balance. As Jedi, we will always strive for balance as well. The darksiders must know that any attacks will only draw the Jedi closer and rally us together. In the end, it is the lightside that will always prevail." continues... "The Jedi will and always have rallied together in times of need. It is true that some Jedi Orders do have a Grand Master, and that is ok. But the Dantooine Jedi Enclave has no Grand Master. Never has and never will. DJE is owned by its community and members. But regardless of how our orders are run, one thing rings true... that we are JEDI. We are not pushover monks, We are Knights of the Force and rally together when needed. That is what being a Jedi means."

Jedi Resurrection

Star News traveled to Yavin IV to find out about the return of a Jedi Master recently thought dead at the hands of the Sith Empire, however we later learned the death was a ruse as he was put on trial in place of KoJ Jedi Master Atlantis for her crimes against the Sith Empire on Byss. Star News interviews Jedi Master Xzhar.

Star News: heard that you were presumed dead, and yet you are standing right here before me. How did that all play out?"

Jedi Master Xzhar: "While I will admit I don't know every detail, from what I've gathered I was stabbed with a knife coated in a chemical compound designed to drop all bodily functions to nil - pulse, breathing, everything.  After a certain amount of time, the compound wears off and the 'dead' victim rises again with nothing but an upset stomach and a nasty headache... It is my assumption that it was done in order to goad the KOJ to fight."

Star News: "I assume that Sith don't allow their prey to leave so easily, so how did you make your escape?"

Jedi Master Xzhar: "No small amount of cunning, I can assure you.  I was held on Lady Clandestine's cruiser.  After herding the droids and staff to a few distant locations, I was able to make an escape in a medium range personal transport."

Star News: " While you were imprisoned how were you treated?"

Jedi Master Xzhar: "I was imprisoned and questioned, but was fed and treated with dignity.  While I will admit it wasn't the most luxurious visit, it certainly could have been much, much worse."

Star News: " We hear Lady Clandestine, perhaps the mastermind behind your capture, is on the run. Do you know anything about this?"

Jedi Master Xzhar: "I do not.  As I said, my focus was on escaping at the time."

Star News: " Were you in any way injured during your stay there or while you were making your escape?

Jedi Master Xzhar: "During the trial I received several saber wounds and a knife in the back"

Star News: "After the trial, Did they in any away give you medical treatment for the wounds that you received?"

Jedi Master Xzhar: "Some bacta treatments were provided when I was in a catatonic state. I already filed a full report on the situation and what happened. I can have that sent to your office for you to look over.  I did everything to the utmost of my abilities given the situation I was faced and did my best to preserve this order's leadership."

Violence in the streets

Violence breaks out on the sandy streets of Mos Eisley, Star News was there to cover it but with so many people dressed in black and wielding lightsabers, it was a bit hard to tell what was going on. So after the violence subsided we had a quick chance to interview one of the people involved, a disciple of the DLotS.

Star News: "May I trouble you for a little information about what was happening back there?"

Inviktüs: "Ah, the press is it? Very well, you've caught me in a good mood after dispatching that filth. I can spare a few moments."

Star News: "Can you please tell me what happened? I recognized some DLOTS representatives, but not the others."

Inviktüs: "Of course. Earlier this evening, I was contacted by a bounty hunter from this planet. He told me of a rogue sith on Tatooine, who had interfered with him while he conducted his duties. This Sith claimed to be an apprentice of the Emperor, and was attempting to use his supposed connection to his own profit. I relayed this information to the Darths of our order, and their edict was clear; the imposter would be swiftly dealt with."

Star News: "So there was no connection between this person and the Emperor at all?"'

Inviktüs: "None at all. The scum had never even heard the name of the true Emperor of the Sith, Emperor Destius. I do not know who this false Emperor of theirs was, but it was of no importance. Heresy against the Emperor is a serious crime, punishable only by death."

Star News: "So then this heretic is dead? without being too graphic, how was this accomplished?"

Inviktüs: "My fellow Sith and I cornered him and one of his companions outside the spaceport. The five of us, along with the bounty hunter who contacted us, battled against them. His companion escaped, but he is believed to be deceased. As of this moment, we consider the matter closed."

Star News: "I see. I'm sure our audience will wish to know: this is a rather unusual move for so many DLOTS personnel here on tattooine. Does this signal a new Byss presence in the sector?"

Inviktüs: "I am but a disciple, I'm not able to give you an answer to that question. However, we will not sit idly by while others break our laws. Let it be known, that any crimes committed against the Empire will be met with swift justice."

Cartel Night Booms!

The walls of Chulman's hotel in downtown Mos Eisley were bursting at the seams with the very large and rowdy crowd that had traversed from all over the galaxy to witness what has become known as Cartel Night, the public meeting of the one and only Hutt Cartel. The crowd was packed with people wishing to do business with the Cartel as well as the usual onlookers and people just wanting an event to mingle or drink at. Again the audience ranged from the unknown to the stars of the galaxy, spotted in the crowd were Shaka the Huttling as well as Grand Master Iria of the KoJ.

On stage this night conducting business for the Hutt Cartel were Issulla Odominic, Jengaz Besadii, sibling Hutts Tompunka and Rolga Bareesh, and the new comer Anda the Hutt whom Star News still knows little about. The night was hosted by Meeka D'Lux and Stubz was as always close by with his blaster ready to assist the Hutts in anyway needed. Security was provided by both the ISC and the Spectre group of Mos Esiley.

The first speaker called up was a bounty hunter working with Bareesh specifically and perhaps the whole Cartel by the name of Creten Leere. He had come to inform and question the Hutt Cartel about a traitor...

Creten Leere: "Great Hutts, I am bringing some rather disturbing news to your ears today, I wish for you all to understand I am not Sith, Just a simple bounty Hunter. But recently there was a rogue Sith attempting to do business with the Hutt cartel in an effort to find a possible traitor in your midst. This rogue Sith has since been dealt with, and Killed rather..explosively. Byss has already started Investigations in some matters to this and I ask you if you have any information on the subject of the fake "Darth" Phoenix? I have seen him personally attempting to gain favor with the Hutts, he is a criminal by Imperial standards, and I doubt any of you would want a Sith checking into your accounts. This traitor has since been dealt with by myself personally, But my question is if any of you have any information regarding who he knew in the Security or any basic information to find any further traitors?"

Tompunka responded first in Huttese which was translated by Meeka: "I would not wish anyone in our accounts - Sith or Jedi tricksers, or mynocks for that matter" and his sibling Rolga further commented: "The incident you refer to happened recently, the traitor was presumed ....dealt with, but I have information that states otherwise, and your question seems slightly accusatory in it's nature, is this the case, bounty hunter?"

Creten Leere bows his head lightly to Tompunka: "That is understandable, this is a situation I would like to deal with for you, and keep Sith out of your business, beneficial for us all, Yes?" he said before turning his Attention to Rolga "It is not an accusation, I just have intel and I have seen him attempting to make deals with Hutts, whether or not they are Hutt Cartel or not I am not sure but it was within this hotel's walls. But I don't understand how you could have information that would state that he isn't dead, I have not heard of many people who have taken on six Sith apprentices and a det pack and lived to tell the tale? Are you sure you are not Mistaken?"

Tompunka Bareesh: "Bounty Hunter, before you presume too much one way or another about Sith, or Jedi, or any other business dealings of the Bareesh Clan directly, or Cartel in general, you would do well to consult with our respective agents, perhaps discreetly."

Rolga Bareesh: "The information on his life is most accurate, his deceptions are becoming a nuance to say the least, but I am curious how this trickster was somehow associated with the Lettow?"

Creten Leere looking up to Tom: "Perhaps, I will leave that with you Hutts if you wish to discuss this more privately I have already talked to Byss on the matter. I do not mind either way, Its just good business and good credits for all involved." he said with a soft wheeze looking towards Rolga again "Interesting..I guess that means more hunting of the man...My intel tells me he was looking for someone within the group, a contact he was attempting to get ahold of at one of the star ports, Who this is I have yet to find out, but once again, this is bringing unwanted attention to you outside of Tatooine and can be very...drastic if things get out of hands...Especially since the Sith were threatening to tear down this hotel just to find the man."

Creten Leere then decided to speak on another matter: "Would a Subject of GAR's last meeting be Suitable topic? For public all I can say is this, And I'll go into it more in a private setting with the Hutts, But do not trust GAR, They are a credit a dozen cheap rejects of clones from a long forgotten era. If they make nest in your home, expect to find poo-doo."

Rolga Bareesh addressed the comments: "For the record, no Cartel member has made bad business with GAR that I am aware of."

Creten Leere noded: "I am associated with no one. I work for whoever pays me well. As I said, I can go into "Why" In more Detail in a private setting since I am sure you'll be interested in what they have done behind your backs. I accept the private audience, trust me when i say you will be most interested in what i have to say."

Meeka: "A private meeting can and will be arranged hunter."

Tompunka in all his wisdom states to the bounty hunter: "A loose tongue in a public forum can be seen as a mistake."

After the the bounty hunter left the stage the next speaker was called up...

Meeka: "Next we have Miss Minx Bade and company.. please step up and announce your business with the council of many calories."

Minx Bade: "greetings all mighty Hutts... while I wish my business was for all of you I come to address the Bareesh as they have certain commodities I seek. Some time ago I came to you Tompunka and requested weapons and ammunition to arm my ship in a raid I planned, thought that deal fell through I never lost sight of my original plan, and I am now ready to execute that plan, however, like before, I am in need of weapons and ammunition to carry out this raid"

Tompunka recalling the deal remarked: "Yes, you did. And those businesses were put flatly off by your then Matriach. As an employee of Bareesh Clan, I am pleased to continue to consider your request still, Minx Bade."

Minx Bade: "...and the terms of the deal, will they remain the same?"

Rolga responded: "As I remember it was 70/30 to your favor"

...And Tompunka added: "I believe we need to revisit your request, Minx Bade. It lacked certain details."

Minx Bade: "yes, it was, and to Tompunka, I don't have a problem with revisiting, though I would most definitely look to acquire the same terms, is that going to be a problem?

while this was going on a little discussion broke out between Tompunka and Meeka about her not translating the human language back into Huttese for the council, she explained that she was never able to make the proper sounds to do justice for the Hutt language.

Tompunka turning from the trivial matters addressed Minx Bade and the business at hand: "Foregoing any details, I can only give a tentative "yes", though there are matters of the expected amount of the cargo to be acquired, and such, to contemplate."

And Rolga also commented: "In our last deal your request was for weapons and ammunition, we did make arrangements and ship product from various location, it was costly and when the deal fell through it was a matter of restocking, but we will meet later to negotiate either way."

Minx Bade bowed to the Hutts as she left the stage saying: "I thank the Bareesh and all the Hutts for the time to speak"

The next speaker was then called up

X-2580 walks up onto the stand removing his helmet and placing it under his arm and addressed the Hutt Cartel: "Greetings Great and Wise Hutts I come before you to discuss two topics. 1st I would like to inform the Cartel of news that one of my Scouts has return to me news of a Contract Upon Rolga Bareesh"

There was a moment of silence so Meeka spoke first: "Please tell us about this contract on Rolga.. everything you know." while Stubz snapped a bit more to attention and started checking his weapon.

X-2580 continued: "At this time I know very little but have my best scouts learning and discovering more as we speak. As it stands the Contract is a measly 1,000,000 credits and was taken out by an Amaran who's identity is yet to be discovered. The Contract Origin originated on Bakura"

Issulla reminded the crowd that a threat to any Hutt on the Cartel would result in the death of the person making the threat.

Rolga: "you have done well for me, Colonel"...while Bareesh sibling Tompuka asked a rhetorical question: "How can a bounty be issued, if there is no one to cash in to?"

X-2580: "The Bounty has been protected and passed through secret channels I believe that someone with a history of shadow dealings may be behind this contact" turns to Rolga "As always I continue to serve to the best of my abilities after all must earn my pay" he smirks hoping his remark would be found amusing

Rolga responded with: "Seek these fools out and bring them before us, I will make the bonus worthy of your time. I am anxious to know more when you have information to bring me" and Tompunka added: "It is a laughable thing indeed. We would be pleased to feed them to that beast in the desert, or perhaps worse"

X-2580: "I shall keep you apprised of my investigation" he pauses a moment awaiting any further comments or questions before bringing up his second item of business...Mighty Rolga it has been three weeks since me and my men's services were engaged, my men continue to wake from Cyro stasis and are ready to serve and protect, however more then ever we require the much needed materials and ammunitions to restock and repair our equipment so that we can better serve the Hutts. In Addition if I may be so bold as to request an additional service from the Hutt Cartel. You see we are building our base and with our members we need more room and Materials on this planet are some what hard to locate under normal markets" he respectfully spoke again confident and bold... I also remind the ever busy Rolga that we are still awaiting an official documentation to seal our deal"

Rolga Bareesh: "Yes, of course, Colonel, we shall make time for all your request, this will be a priority for Bareesh."

X-2580: "As always the mighty Rolga's kindness is much appreciated. Is there anything else that me and my Men can assist the mighty Hutt Cartel with?" he asked

Rolga Bareesh: "You have done well for us, Colonel, you may tend to your duties."

Meeka then called up the next speaker, a Jedi Master named Syn.

Jedi Master Syn: "I come as representative of the Order and the Galactic Alliance, with respect for the Hutts to inform you of our returning presence to this world and this city specifically, and to apologize for not informing you all sooner of our move into the city, but it was with security of the citizens in mind that we not make aware of our presence here once more until we had a fortified position, so that potential enemies did not make moves at us and involve the civilian population in the process. We do not wish you to worry that we will intrude on your operations or... business here, as our return is primarily in efforts to restore alliances with the Imperials here and elsewhere."

Jengaz Besadii spoke first: "Thanks for letting us know, we wish you good luck in your goals, since there's no problems between us and Jedi here as you said."

Then Rolga asked: "Jedi, how much of your security involves investigations in Mos Eisley?"

Jedi Master Syn: "At the moment primarily myself, the others are mostly focused on local efforts of finding potential initiates and management of the base. I assist the imperial forces at their requests if they have any however."

Rolga Bareesh: "Would you be willing to bring us a weekly report, so we can stay well informed on things in Mos Eisley of course."

Jedi Master Syn nodded slightly: "I can certainly try should I be involved in more investigations and assistance with the local forces. Anything else I may do?"

Rolga responded: "Most appreciated Master Jedi." and Meeka added: "Keep the Cartel informed if you see anything, even remote.. that might be of a concern, and you have the Cartel's blessings Jedi." in response to the Jedi Master's last question.

Meeka then took a slight pause in the speakers so the Hutt Cartel could make announcements. Tompunka made the first announcement on behalf of Bareesh Clan.

Tompunka Bareesh: "It is Bareesh Clan's, and my personal, pleasure to announce Bareesh's investment in a project my personal assistant, Stubz, is organizing.. He calls it a "Jawa Junker Derby," and it should prove to be quite a great event, with opportunity for all to participate, or watch, bet on, and truly find amusement in."

Stubz the Jawa of many languages and words chimed in...

Stubz: "Yesyes! Lotsa funfun, build truck-traqctors qand race the wastes! See Stubz more for info and stuffs, yesyes"

Issulla Odominic also had an announcement to make...

Issulla: "Odominic due to the recent leadership coup on Mustafar is publically dissolving their contract due to legal concerns."

Then the last speaker of the night was called up... Kanomi of the Imperial Guard on Tatooine.

Kanomi: bowed her head politely taking the stand: "greetings grand Hutts and greetings on behalf of the Imperials, As you must be aware mustafar has fallen into choas with a coup and trade of precious metals and alloys have halted, we find our selves in need of a new source to obtain such metals and alloys for production"

Issulla Odominic told her: "Ord Mantel has all the materials needed to fill your orders."

...and Anda the Hutt added: If the most trusted Issulla requires further mineral resources to fulfill your order, I have a good deal to supplement the difference, your needs will be met.

Kanomi: "very good, I have a large order to fill for production lines to continue on schedule, i hope that you would be interested in filling a rather large order, im to ask for such an order which form of payment you prefer"

Issulla replied that the payment she preferred is irodian ingots. While Rolga had Meeka inquire about the Imperial's need for droids.

Kanomi: "irodian ingots it shall be then, I'll bring them with me on my ship to make such a large order, i think having an adequate payment available would save us both time, as for the droid, yes that's correct, we have need for large production droids at this time... to further save time i will need 3 tons of Diatium, 5 tons of Laminasteel, 3 tons of Songsteel, and 7 tons of Trimantium... also if available ill need 37 tons of Electrum, if you can pass me the amount in payment you require ill bring it with me"

About the droids, Rolga responded: "You should come see me, I may be able to assist." while Issulla cautioned Kanomi about mentioning the materials and payment in a public forum due to the threat of pirates, instead saying that such matters should be dealt with in private. A meeting was then set up for sometime during the week on Ord Mantel to exchange the goods.

With the final bit of business done for the night Jengaz and Rolga called an official end to Cartel Night and the crowd dispersed out into the warm Tatooine night.

Sera Secura returns

Star News recently sat down with Sera Secura at Kessel Gate for a candid interview.

Star News: "Hello Sera.. it is good to see you again and thank you for coming on such short notice." she smiles "This interview is to alert people that you are back, because you are a celebrity to many people, so please take your time with the questions and say what you want to represent yourself.. ready to get started?"

Sera Secura: "Oh I don't think I am a celebrity or even all the important really. I was runner up in most the races and contest I competed in. I know some people knew me from my establishment on Nar Shaddaa under the Jiramma Hutt clan but that seems like ages ago. I guess I am ready, asks away." She smiles and glances about nervously.

Star News: "The first question, as always is please state your name and current group affiliations

Sera Secura: "Well I am Sera Secura, I use to run an establishment under the Jiramma clan then when power shifted..."

Star News: "Can you tell us more about the power shift and what happened to your establishment?"

Sera Secura: I was more or less independent for a bit till I left to begin a small transport company, shortly followed by an offer to run the Dathomir Cantina and help with the commercial shipping... I would rather not say what, but as for the Cantina, some business came up and I felt it necessary to leave. It has been more or less taken care of though now."

Star News: "Sounds like you have been quiet busy.. so then.. I have to ask.. where have you been all these months.. you seem to have dropped off the radar"

Sera Secura: laughs softly tilting her head sending her lekku swaying behind her. "Well I have been busy with my company, its mostly light transports and moving goods between customers or finding special goods that can be hard for certain groups to normally acquire."

Star News: What can you tell us about your new business?

Sera Secura: "With Dathomir deciding to lock down the borders and ignore the galaxy, I had access to a large number of ships and more importantly upset pilots. I simply requisition a number of light freighter by placing them against my assets on world when I left and offered those poor men and women continued employment. The private sector can be far more lucrative for experienced and dedicated pilots, especially since they do not need to pay for there own ships."

Star News: "can you tell us the name of your company? and if it is not based on Dathomir.. where are you based out of currently?"

Sera Secura: "Right now I am operating independently but I have clients on Bakura, and a few others. I am always looking to expand and do to the flexibility of my smaller light freighters I can easy reroute ships to what ever location is requested of by the client. I will be establishing a more permanent office at some point. Other then giving you the name, Secura Vida, I think I have said about everything that needs saying, if any of your readers should need transportation of good, ranging from medical to weapons grade material I have the license and ship for it."

Attempted reporter kidnapping

Star News Received a summoning to Ord Mantel, the reason was not made apparent in the com so we decided to send a reporter to check it out. What happened next was a harrowing encounter that left one reporter scrambling for freedom. What follows are the raw transcripts from the recording device. The first voice you hear is the voice of Star Reporter KinsaShala, the second is an unknown slaver.

Star News: " Greetings I am KinsaShala from Star News. You have something you wish to report to Star News?"

Unknown Slaver: "Welcome.. So you are the news reporter who enjoys getting into the hotspots then?"

Star News: " You are correct and I am sorry I didn't get your name?"

Unknown Slaver: "Thats because I didn't give it yet.. I must admit you have written some interesting articles thus far.."
Star News: " Thank you but I can't take all credit. There are two of us. hopefully we can draw in more part time workers."

Unknown Slaver: "Well it can be a dangerous job sometimes.. I mean your article that recently took part on these very streets.. Do you not fear for your life?"

Star News: " the people need to hear the news and I need to go where I need to go to get it to them."

Unknown Slaver: "Well I would agree.. The news must be reported.. regardless of what is it.. So.. You've been to Ord before.. But not to this part of town.."

Star News: " you are correct so what news do you wish to tell us at Star News?"

Unknown Slaver: " It is simple.."

Star News: " how simple?"

Unknown Slaver: "There is more than the Hutt Cartel.. Alot more to be precise.. Except we remain low key.. As we prefer it that way.. But now and then.. we enjoy the limelight.. You know.. make headlines an all.."

Star News: " I understand. Please go on."

Unknown Slaver: " Its like this.. We are unknown.. things happen.. and it leaves people wondering.. But other times, no one cares.. Now, I ask you to look around this room and tell me what you see.."

Star News: "I see the lady at the bar and droid at the door. few cages and pole. The place look like a hot spot place for drinking and dancing."

Unknown Slaver: " And the Slave equipment.."

Star News: " Yes. I see that."

Unknown Slaver: "Can you guess as to why we have such equipment.. And, the cages.."

Star News: " I am assuming you buy or trade slave to run your business."

At this point the unknown slaver is heard offering a drink to the reporter from the person behind the counter... as a mando entered the bar.
Unknown Slaver: "Girl.. bring me a Mandalorian wine.. Would you like a drink or something?

Star News: " no I am on the job but thank you."

Unknown Slaver: " Correct.. and the business pays extremely well.. Something the Hutts enjoy more so.. I've never understood it though.."

Star News: " how is business?"

Unknown Slaver: "Business is booming actually.. And I can say its only going to get better.. When word gets out.. All thanks to you, Dear.."

Star News: " What slaves do you usually sell here?

Unknown Slaver: "Currently, the in thing is those, well more alien than humans.. The usual, Twi'leks..Togruta.. other kinds of aliens.."

Star News: " how much would you sell a Twi'lek or Togruta or the other aliens for?"

Unknown Slaver: "Well Dear that depends on various things.. But funny you should mention it.. As we have a request.. a rather large sum of credits.."

Star News: "I see you are really raking it in here. do you have any competition?"

Unknown Slaver: "As of yet, no.. And even if we do.. Its easily fixed.. I mean after all we are pirates.. That's just the life for us.. But alas, its time to wrap things up and try and fill this order.. The Hutt's are impatient lot.. Now.. If you will kindly follow my Girl here.. Its time we get you ready.. Now, if you are thinking of running by all means.. But my associate over there, will track you.. and capture you.. The choice is yours.. But I do suggest.. complying.."

A female voice can be heard giggling, it is presumed that of the bartender.

Star News: " so what you are saying you want me as one of your slaves. Oh I wouldn't make good slave and beside How would I get the news out about your business if I am here. That wouldn't make good business don't you think? what would people think about your business if they found out that you slave one of the galaxy greatest reports."

Unknown Slaver: "Simple.. its all about business my Dear.. As for getting news out.. We have the Hutt's for that job.. They love bragging.. I mean imagine that kind of status to a Hutt.. One of the best news reporters, a Slave girl for the Hutt.."

Star News: " I thank you for the offer and know any other person would enjoy the job but ...... being slave don't fit me so I am have to turn you down but I do wish you the best in your business adventures. "

At this point a small explosion is heard, later we found out it was KinsaShala dropping a smoke grenade while she made a hasty exit for the door.. coughing can be heard and the voice of the unknown slaver shouting to someone, we presume the mando or the bar tender: " Stop her at all costs.. and anyone else interfering.." but Star News was able to make a narrow escape and return with this report and one blurry picture of the unknown slaver.

Of course, the mission of Star News is to bring the galaxy closer together by communication, and we often risk life and limb going into hot spots to bring you, the reader the news and keep you updated on events and happenings from around the galaxy. Perhaps this was all just staged by the Hutts on Ord Mantel in a bid to control the free press, censor or destroy it, or maybe it was just a publicity stunt to manipulate the people of the galaxy and help promote the slave trade on Ord. Or maybe it was just so one of the Hutts on Ord could have bragging rights, although that seems a bit shallow for any Hutt as they are known for their cunning and multiple layered ambitions. Perhaps we will never know the truth of the attempted kidnapping.

Star News remains free despite anyone's actions such as the Hutts on Ord to enslave our reporter. We will continue to fearlessly bring you headlines from all planets in the galaxy that we can, including Ord Mantel.

We are back at  LME  for another Swoop Race and thanks to the donation of Raylen and Kanomi  this race  can continue for all you sports fans.

Today's racers are  Erik,  Maria69, POΩAN and Nora. From where I am standing, this looks like a good day to race.  My money  was on POΩAN.  He  won  the last two  races.   well see if he  does  well  in this  races.   its  looks  like they have  20 Lap  around  the hotel  with  this races and  not seven  like last week.

We are down to the last lap and it looks like Erik has a good lead on the group  Nora ran into some trouble early. Its good thing I didn't but any money on this because  looks like Erik could  win this.

The final results are: 1 ~ Erik, 2 ~  Nora, 3 ~ POΩAN, 4 ~ maria69 Cybertar.

The LME Swoop Races are a weekly event open to everyone at 2pm Sunday slt

There was once a time that anyone traveling to Nar Shaddaa knew or perhaps had dealings with Shaka the Huttling, during his time on Nar Shaddaa he was quiet active in, well.. pretty much everything and his ethical dealings made him quiet a popular and predominant figure around the galaxy as a whole. But then Shaka all but disappeared during the time when Shihvus Verne took over Nar Shaddaa. Recently the Huttling has returned and has been spotted doing business on several planets. Star News caught up with him on Tatooine for a few questions.

Star News: "For the readers who may not know you Shaka, please start by telling us a little about yourself"
Shaka: "Shaka, Child of Jul'gaa the Immense, of the Jiramma Dlugacz Clan. Affiliations." continues... "Entrepreneur businessman. Member of the Eriadu Trade Board, Grand Hutt Council, Hutt Council of Nar Shaddaa. CEO of ShakaCorps.  I have worked in both Republic and Sith Empires, and continue to maintain my neutrality. I have a documented record in the Republic of environmentally friendly policies and procedures. Regularly inspected by both Republic inspectors and the occasional Jedi with zero violations."

Star News: "You have been gone from the public eye for quiet sometime.. can you comment on where you were and maybe what you were up to?"
Shaka: "Travelling. Expanding my business to find new opportunities and distancing myself from the conflicts among the Hutts. Bad for business and a distraction from more important things."

Star News: "There seems to be a lot of confusion about the Hutt Council as of current.. one time you sat in the Senior Hutt chair... now it seems to be Belutric Nasirii.. can you coment on the switch over of power?"
Shaka: "Belutric interfered with my businesses, so I reacted. Time has passed and the galaxy changed again as it always does, and my business interests with it. I don't need the Seat so let him have it and let us focus on business which is what matters. Not who sits where."

Star News: "It seems like the Council has had most of it's members, or at least a few, leave and start the Cartel... can you comment on your feelings towards the Cartel?"
Shaka: "Hutts have always engaged in networking and alliances where it profits us. There is not a limit and where business interests may compete, that is only the nature of the game. Most of their businesses do not compete with mine." He pauses to think a bit. "The acoustics are not good in the room they meet in, and sitting above the Hutts that are in charge of it sets a bad precedent."

Star News: "Let's talk more about Your buisness Shaka.. for the people reading this that don't know about you.. besides you lengthy title.. how would you tell them what it is you do?"
Shaka: "I am a business Hutt. ShakaCorps deals primarily in raw materials. Mining operations and agricultural products. Sometimes I am a consultant. Sometimes an entrepreneur. Trying new things and product lines. For instance smelting plants, factories, and distilleries."

Star News: "Now that you have been seen around a little again.. can we expect to see more of you?"
Shaka: "I expect so. My work does not leave a lot of free time if I want to make the most of opportunities but networking is an important aspect in any business."

Ord Mantel Heats Up

Last week as Star News went to press we heard stories of the Imperial Inquisition's attack on the GAR base at Ord Mantel. The reports are sketchy and although we know it was a heated battle that included GAR leader Snoops and Imperial Inquisition leader Lady Clandestine, reports of casualties and the outcome are unknown. Star News believes it was an attack by the Inquistion aimed at the GAR base located on Ord Mantel.

Star News sent a reporter to Muustafar to talk with a Imperial Inquisition rep and this is what we were told:  "It was simply a skirmish to show Gar that we do still exist. And will not tolerate their movements of aggression upon us."

From the GAR camp Star News was told:  "No one can talk right now. We're working furiously on a new assignment. Our Ord Mantell base was assaulted for unknown reasons, and by assailants we will not be naming at this time." We cannot say if they were referring to the Imperial Inquisition or something else, but one thing is for sure Ord Mantel is heating up.

So Star News sent a reporter to Ord Mantel to try to find out more information and maybe get a feel for why Ord has suddenly become such a hot spot. After wandering around looking for a city official to speak with we were directed to a bar and told to talk to the purple Twi'lek working there to find out answers to our many questions.

Star News: "I'm from Star News.. I was out wandering around .. wondering where the city hall is or where the officials are... I was thinking I could talk to someone about Ord Mantel" 

Delilah: "My name's Delilah.The government is located next to the shuttle landing pad and it doesn't control much beyond that building, the Hutts and gangsters control the rest. Issulla Odominic owns a large casino in the center of the city, Tompunka owns this bar and me with it and the corrupted security forces run the streets"

Star News: "So is there like, constant gang wars over authority of the planet.. or is the Government in the Hutt Cartel's pocket?"
Delilah: "All but the regional governor and her small personal guard"

Star News: "I bet she is very paranoid. Her guards must be very paranoid as well.. is there anything else you can tell us about them... like.. is it constant war?"
Delilah: "If your an alien and not already owned be warned of what may happen on these streets, alien meaning non human... of course Hutts are exempted since they are the ones in charge; there is a market here for exotic slaves"

Star News: "What else can you tell me about Ord Mantel... what are the future plans if any other then just .. uh.. what is it Ord does in particular?"
Delilah: "With the new shift in power there is a boom of slave traders and brothels... there are also rumors of a GAR presence"

Star News: "How would you describe Ord Mantel to people who have never been here?"
Delilah: "I would say come armed or leave enslaved. If taking your time with the sins of the flesh is your thing, Ord Mantell is the only destination you'll ever need. Alcohol, slaves, Hutts, slaves, Love, slaves and gambling, slaves, is all here and ripe for the pickings. If you want to read books, try Yavin."

Star News: "You mentioned about GAR's rumored presence.. but I remember GAR had a boycott on Nar Shaddaa just because of the Hutt Council.. how are the Hutts taking the news of their rumored presence?"
Delilah: "The Hutts have been to busy to notice the rumors that have been spreading thru the slaves"

Star News: "Well.. you know rumors anyway.. can't believe them. Still, I would be a little concerned if I was a planet of Hutts and Gangsters and heard that GAR was coming here.. I'm sure it wouldn't be for slaves and prostitutes."

Delilah: "who knows how honest they are now days but your probably right, Issulla has been hiring crews to bolster the sub levels below the Gundark"

So Ord Mantel remains a mystery for Star News with so many different things being said, but one thing is for certain, it seems to be the center of the galaxy and worth checking out for anyone, just remember to bring your blaster.

the Sith on Maanan

Star News recently traveled to Manaan to find out about rumors that the planet was now part of the Sith Empire. 

Star News: "Star News has a couple questions we would like to ask about Manaan for our readers.. but before we get started.. maybe you can tell us a little about about yourself and the city"

General Star: " I am General Star of the Valor Legionares and Eye of the Chancellor. welcome to the Imperial planet of Manaan. while Manaan is a water planet there is plenty of air here for those that need it and we will create our own oxigen if it happens to not be sustainable enough. We have our places above water... Maanan's inhabitants mainly wish to live under the water. While there is beauty here there is always a danger of something happening such as it is on any planet. Maanan was once a neutral planet and now we occupy it currently, well I should say the Empire controlls it for now."

Star News: "So it is safe to assume you are working with Byss? can you tell us a little about that relationship?"
General Star: "Our alliance with Byss is a strong one. We are allies in our efforts towards a greater Empire." 

Star News: "Now that the Empire is on Manaan... what can you tell us of future plans for the water world?"
General Star: "We plan on keeping our presence here and using it as a planet to harvest its healing properties... Kolto, a gel...slightly less strong the bacta but.... it suffices in the same way. The people of this planet know how to harvest it for now they will continue to do so willingly. It is what drew us to this planet. ...unless forced off I dont foresee us leaving Maanan"

Star News: "How did the natives react to the Empire coming here? Did they welcome a chance to do buisness with the Empire or did is it safe to say that Manaan is occupied?"
General Star: "The natives here were not as compliant as we would have liked so certain precautions had to be taken of  course... We pushed back Jedi scum that allied with them in order to gain control. So long as we all get along the natives cooperate as necessary"

Star News: "Is there anything you would like to add in general that you think the readers should know before we close this interview?"
General Star: "We have a no weapons policy here on the surface....perhaps a nice bit of enlightenment to those around, this rule will not be enforced and for those that wish to break it might be met with deadly force. To those that should wish to oppose us or slander our cause I say this.... come at us, we are not hiding."

Virus still plagues Tython

Star News reported in it's first issue about the viral outbreak on Tython, time has past and we decided to travel back to Tython's space station and follow up on the out break. 

Psychotol Acker: "Well, we now know it's a Sith made virus, and we've managed to clear Bogan woods, but the temple area and Ashla Plains are still a hazard zone. There's no way around working up a vaccine and anti-virals to kill the virus, and ,unfortunately until we got those properly designed, the answer is 'as long as it takes' we don't know how long that will be, I would hope next minute, but ..."

Star News: "So where are your civilians living while this virus is going on?"
Psychotol Acker: Yavin IV has offered to house anyone who wants to go there for the duration of the current situation. I have no data on who's taken them up on the offer though, I would hope everyone would for now, but there's still a lot of people who fear that their place will get looted while they're gone, so ... going to depend on what's more scary to them.

Star News: " Have you learned which Sith group created this virus and why they unleashed it on Tython?"
Psychotol Acker: "Our current suspect is Dark Lords Of The Sith, DLotS, whether or not they'll admit it if it is them is another question entirely. We might hear from them when this goes on. This is a provisional answer, but they look good for it at the moment."

the ISC continues to grow

As the presence of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps on Tatooine continues to grow, Star News decided to travel to their garrison base on Mos Eisley to find out who they are, what they do and how they are different from the other men in white, GAR. Star News talked to Corporal "Crash" TK-0007, TK-2283 Major 'Gumby' and ID-799, General Jonas Reaver.

Star News: "The people reading this who might not know what you do, and who you represent, could you please explain a little more about the Imperial Stormtrooper Corp and what they do on Tatooine?"
General Jonas Reaver:  "The primary objective of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps is to ensure the safety of the city and residence each Garrison is stationed in. We achieve this goal by performing routine patrols, Identification checks, and security at events and busy areas. We have been the authoritative figures in Mos Eisley since before you were even born. Hasn't changed since, and its not changing now."

Star News: "Mos Eisley is known as a hive of scum and villainy.. what are some of your current challenges policing and protecting?"
General Jonas Reaver:  "What makes this city a hive of scum and villainy? What challenges does a civilian face throughout the day, what with criminals in hiding, Illegal gambling around every corner, and human trafficking? The very things that someone like you is challenged with are the very things we protect against. Your challenges are our challenges... and when we are faced with a challenge, we don't rest until we've conquered it."

Star News: "Can you comment on the validity of GAR and perhaps contrast and compare some of the differences of the ISC and GAR.. if there are any?"
General Jonas Reaver: "The Clones are reminiscent of the clone wars that took place nearly three hundred years ago. In a way, they are like us. We are reminiscent of the Empire founded by Palpatine. The Imperials were assimilated into the new Republic as a separate branch. However, we are real people with real lives and families. GAR are clones that fight for the views of the 'old' Republic... Though we essentially fight for the same thing, we are two different types of armies."

Star News: "Can you tell me a little about the people that compose the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps? If not just clones.. then how do you recruit and who?" 
Corporal "Crash" TK-0007: "The Stormtrooper Corps gathers people from all walks of life. People who truly want to make a difference in the galaxy and be a part of the finest military in existence. The recruit must be willing to be all they can and give all they are for the Corps"

Star News: "Is there anything you would like to add?"
General Jonas Reaver gave a little chuckle. "Yeah... Stay out of trouble."

Hutt Night Packs the House

With all the bomb paranoia of last weeks Cartel Night forgotten, the turn out for this weeks public business night filled Chullman's Hotel in downtown Mos Esiely to standing room only. In the crowd was spotted names such as Shaka the Hutt along with her constant traveling partner Morrigan, as well as GAR, and members of the KoJ including Master Jedi Iria. On stage this night were the Hutt Cartel staples of Issulla Odominic, Jengaz Besadii, Rolga Bareesh, his sibling Tompunka Bareesh and joining them a new Hutt who was introduced as Anda, affiliation and clan is unknown at this time by Star News. Hosting and translating was the Jawa of note Stubz, Tompunka's Majordomo, with the Imperial Stormtrooper Corp working the door and the enigmatic Spectre group holding down security inside the hotel.

As per usual.. the night began a bit late allowing for everyone to get setteled in and get their drinks or food. This night there were no announcements made by the Hutts other then the introduction of Anda the Hutt.

The First speaker of the night to be called up was Grandmaster Jedi Iria Tuqiri of the KoJ. She made her way to the front and addressed the Hutts with her business.
Grandmaster Iria Tuqiri:  "I have come to follow up on the trade deal we made recently on your visit to Yavin IV. The exalted Rolga visited Yavin IV... we made a trade for medical supplies. We received the first delivery on the spot. But I was under the impression that this would be a recurring delivery for the same fee. I am wondering why the next delivery has not yet arrived?"

translating for the Hutts, Stubz replied: "Great Hutt Roga Bareesh know wish dis about da medical transports?"
and then a little confusion transpired between the Jedi, the Jawa, and the Hutts.

Iria Tuqiri: "We did not purchase the medical transports... just basic medical supplies."

Stubz, translating for the Hutts: "Bozz Rolga Bareesh say glad to discuss more nicenice price if Jedi interest gotz"

Iria Tuqiri: "That is kind of his greatness, but I am not hear to complain about the price nor to admonish. I am simply making a status inquiry since we heard nothing about the delay and were unable to raise anyone on comms."

Stubz:  "Bozz Rolga He say yoo mebbee misunderstand... Bozz Rolga He glad talk better deal transport ships for"
Iria Tuqiri: We do not need the transport ships. I am just curious where are next shipment of medical supplies is. It is payment upon delivery, so if he does not wish to deliver that's fine, I can make other arrangements. It's his profits at stake here. That's all."

Then Shaka, speaking from the audience decided to try to offer a deal to Iria, sensing the confusion. ShakaTheHutt: "If you do wish to make other arrangements Iria, I have often donated medical supplies for emergencies in the past. I could easily make regular shipments to you along with my mining station for a nominal fee. Since the shipping costs are already handled, it would be no trouble."
Iria Tuqiri: "I will keep that in mind, if the honored Rolga has decided he no longer wishes to do business with us."
ShakaTheHutt: "Of course. And if an emergency arises, and you need a shipment urgently, you know where to find me."

But Stubz reassured the Grandmaster that: "Hutt Cartel Bozzes Jengaz and Issulla state shipments be work comecome soonsoon next couple days. Great Bozz Jengaz assure yoo Iria Tuqiri yooyoo be git shipment yesyes no problem"
Iria Tuqiri: "Very well, thank you all. May fortunes favor your pockets." she said with a bow as she left the stage.

At this point Tompunka the Hutt decided to make an announcement: "With the graces of The Senior Members of the Cartel, I wish to express my gratitude for the work put forth to a topnotch security presence at the Hotel tonight."
And Stubz translated: "Great Bozz Hutt TomPunKa of Cartel say he muchmuch pleased see such fine show of Seucrity at tonight big event... thankeethankee muchmuch!"
Tompunka continued his announcement: "I am also pleased to announce that, in a addition to my personal business investments in asteroid gem mining, I have secured a fine little bar establishment run by a delightful slave twi'lek on Ord Mantel... and Stubz tells me that the twi'lek is quite trained in the arts of pleasure"

Then from the crowd Star News reporter and Arcadian Kaelinn  X spoke up: "Is it true that GAR is protecting Ord Mantel? Is GAR is working with the Hutts now?"

Translating for Issulla.. Stubz said: "Great Hutt Bozz Issulla Odominic make clear to all GAR got nuttin' to do wit' Hutt Cartel"

Kaelinn  X: "And yet here they are.. and reports show they have a base on Ord.. and are protecting it.."

Then some sort of heated argument broke out between Issulla and Kaelinn X about what appears to be slaves but unfortunately Stubz didn't translate it for the crowd or media so it is hard to tell for sure just what words were being exchanged, but it ended when Kaelinn X walked off in a huff.

Stubz then called up the next speaker: "comecome. Introduce self an' present bizness?"
Creten Leere "My offer is rather simple, I'm looking for a new place to keep my bounties at home with me, now can I? I'm Creten leere. I capture all kinds of things, and I've been in the War's with GAR over the last few Months. I hunt, I enjoy the hunt. So my offer is just a simple one, A place to keep bounties, and make some money."
Stubz then translated for the Hutts, as he had been doing all night: Presenting Creten Leere, Bouty Hunter and Hunter in all ways... offer services and like hunthunthunt... Want work and place keep his prizes..."
And for the bounty hunter adds: "Hutt Cartel they discuss possible bizness for Bounty Hunter Creden Leere" Then after some discussion between the Hutts Stubz tells the bounty hunter that they have business for him: "Sir Bounty Hunter... yooyoo gotz big bizness... Hutt Cartel wish offer 200,000 measley credits for bring BG aka Kaelinn X live in bindings to them."

Creten Leere nods his head softly, a wheeze of the hoses connected to his throat hiss with oxygen, looking down to the Jawa as it spoke for the hutts, then returning his attention to them "200,000 will do, I just need a Holochip with the images and such. But what about my request for a place to stow bounties in Hutt space?"

Stubz translated: "Bozz Great Jengaz He say yooyoo will get informations need, an' likely find fine places for bounties, such as Ord Mantell it get popular nownow. Bozzes finish dismiss Bounty Hunter?"
Then translating for Issulla Odominic: "Bounty Hunter yooyoo to meet with Cartel peepolz private to finish bizness details yesyes... Good have yoo work them with" and Creten Leere steped down so others might speak.

Next speaker was a member of GAR, he took the stage over the grate to talk to the Hutt Cartel.
Corporal P-8410 "Rush":  "This is to update for all those unaware of Ord Mantells official status. The Regional Governor of Ord Mantell and the entire Bright Jewel System has authorized The Grand Army to build a large installation on the surface of Ord Mantell, and to position a portion of our fleet for sector defense and stability." he looks around, "We are not there to stop business of any kind, or enforce our own laws." he turns to the Cartel, "You Hutts as far as the Grand Army is concerned are free to continue your business as you see fit. So long as you do not disrupt the regional law, or attempt to impose Cartel Law on the system." he chuckles, "We aren't protecting you, we're protecting the government and the region so that free trade and security can be kept."

Stubz translating for Jengaz: "Bozz Jengaz Great Hutt of Cartel say he understand agree yoo with and know. Words of girl in crowd no take serious just babble"
Corporal P-8410 "Rush": "I thank you for the understanding, and I simply wish to inform the less educated ears of those around who would consider The Grand Army as an occupation force. We are peace keepers, nothing more." he eyes around the Cartel, "I'd also like to remind your greatnesses in the Cartel, that there have been heavy hostilities in recent months... Last month so much, that the Grand Army was forced to invade the Mustafar system and attempt to stop Imperial forces from gaining further power." he eyes over to Issulla, "I believe there was a Hutt Fleet that aided the Sith/Imperial blockade, and destroyed a Grand Army vessel carrying more then 7,000 clone naval personnel...." he clasps his hands, "We don't take this personally, as business is business and I'm sure the Hutts were paid highly for their service of attempting to stop our Fleet. I merely ask that in the future you look at all avenues and possibilities before allying yourselves to such hostile forces. The Grand Army would equally compensate to stop such alliances from happening in the future."
Stubz translating for Issulla and Rolga: "Bozz Rolga say interesting would pay win war... Bozz Issulla say She reviewing contracts now"

Corporal P-8410 "Rush" nods to Issulla, "Please do. The Grand Army would like to avoid any conflicts that could further spark any hostilities. We mean to make peace, not drag others into conflicts such as yourselves." he nods, "Thank you for your time, but I must be off. The Sith of Mustafar are not to be trusted your mightinesses. They have already strike out on Ord Mantell, where your new business is located. I'd hate for your establishments to be caught in the cross fires started by them."

Cartel Night is a weekly every Saturday night in the hotel at LME and is open to the public

GAR at Hutt Night

Amidst rumors of GAR working with the Hutt Cartel, Star News happened to spot them at Hutt Night on Mos Esiely and decided to put some of the rumors to rest by trying to uncover the truth. 

Star News: "Greetings Troopers. What bring you to Little Mos Eisley?"

Veteran Corporal P-8410 "Rush": "Intelligence my good reporter, intelligence. It's always good to know what's happening. Even with the Hutt Cartel and their associates." he chuckles and motions, "Got to admit, the Cartels doing ten times better then the Council ever did on Nar Shaddaa. Highly trained security who actually check for contraband... A checkpoint before you can even see the Hutts. I'm actually going to be proud to report to the Grand Army Command how well the Cartel's doing just on my initial visit."

Star News: " GAR was attacked last Sunday on Ord Mantel. Do you know why?"

Veteran Corporal P-8410 "Rush": "Currently classified ma'am I'm afraid. I can only confirm that our installation on Ord Mantell was attacked by Sith/Imperial forces, as you has seen, and that we were able to push them off the system and out of the sector before too much damage was done."

Star News: "We heard that GAR were working on a new mission? You care to tell star news what that mission might be? "

Veteran Corporal P-8410 "Rush": "I am not at liberty to discuss current information about the Grand Army and its activities. All I can say is we are bolstering our defenses across all our installations including our HQ on Onderon, and outposts on Ord Mantell, Yavin IV, and our fleet patrols over Dantooine, and Endor. This is public knowledge and can easily be checked."

Star News: "How confident is GAR about protecting the Galaxy from the growing threat of the Sith?

Veteran Corporal P-8410 "Rush": "The Grand Army has always stood for peace, justice, and security of all our allies and the rights of those who cannot defend themselves. If the Sith, or anyone in fact wishes to bring harm to any ally, the worlds we defend, or oppress a people who cannot defend themselves. The Grand Army will standby ready to act as we have for many years."

Star News: "Are the Hutt Cartel also one of the allies you going to protect as well. Do to the fact that you have an outpost on a Hutt planet and you are here at Hutt night?

Veteran Corporal P-8410 "Rush": "Currently the Hutt Cartel has no business with the Grand Army I'm aware of. We've come to listen in, gather what's going on with others in the galaxy, and support the allies who have come to talk to the Hutts. Just as the KOJ there. We have no base here, or in any territory under control of the Hutts. We respect the Cartel's borders."

Another beautiful sun drenched day in Mos Eisley for the racers and fans of Swoop racing from all over the galaxy. Racers risked life and limb for a chance at bragging rights and a fist full of credits. This week first place went to Posan, with Icy in second and Maria Cybertar third.

Lady Kia returns?

Star News recently had the privilege of speaking to none other the Lady Kia, High Mother of the Nightsisters of Dathomir who mysteriously vanished a while ago when Dathomir was cut off from the outside galaxy. The interview took place on neutral ground at Kessel Gate since no one is allowed into Dathomir except the Nightsisters themselves.

Star News: "Can you please tell us more about the Nightsisters and what the title High Mother represents?"

Lady Kia: "The title means I am the leader and the Nightsisters are part of the culture of Dathomir, we are not Jedi or Sith and we do use the Force in our magic ways, we do it threw the old teachings set down by Allya and Gethzerion from long ago. It includes the art of alchemy both living and non-living, along with runic magic, and soul magic, we use the all. We use things that Jedi nor Sith know and we keep our teachings to our sisters only. we do not share with outsiders."

Star News: "Can you tell us a little more about the Nightsisters? How are members selected? is it a birth right or right of passage?"

Lady Kia: "Nightsisters is both birth right and right of passage for some they are born into our orders others must past a set of tests and prove themselves, if they fail then they are weak and most of the time die in the tests. as for more information on the Nightsisters, that is something I well not elaborate more on. For we are a set who keep our ways and secrets to ourselves."

Star News: "If I may just one more question about the Nightsisters before we move on... you appear to be a warrior also.. is there a mixing of the magic with combat?"

Lady Kia: "Of course we are all warriors either a spell weaver who is magic straight to the rancor rider who uses magic and weapons to fight. We have watched the galaxy for a long time, and took part in trade and other aspects as well. But now we choose to sit back away and let the galaxy falter like it was fortold. All that was seen has come to pass, the Sith empire of old is crumbled, they war among themselves, the Jedi and their Republic is splintered and decayed. They to war among themselves, so in the end chaos did come in and take over as all was seen. Now will things change most likely not. But who can say? Hope is a lying cheating thing and can always change what is going on."

Star News: "Last we saw you Lady Kia was on Dathomir.. then something happened and the planet was cut off from everyone else. Now, a long time later we see you again. Can you comment on what happened as it is a mystery to the rest of the Galaxy"

Lady Kia: "We as a culture decided to cut off the galaxy from us, we saw what was happening with the Sith and Jedi and Empires and Republics and what not, and decided we did not need the outside galaxy and focused back in on ourselves to the point where we do not wish nor seek any actions with the rest of the galaxy, It is like a cancer and we have cut it out of our lives, The cosmic force has shown that what is going on is do to actions of all who are their and they are blinded by petty actions. both Sith and Jedi fight against each other and with in, it is pathetic, along with planet governments who act like children and petty low lives. There is nothing in this new age of blindness that we seek to have contact with so. we left and stand on our own just like in the past when the Vong came we stood alone and won. So now we stand alone and we wish to keep it that way.

Star News: "That pretty much answers my last question.. but I'll ask anyway.. what are your future plans, if any?"

Lady Kia: "My future plans hmmmm.... for now I will keep that to myself. But you may see me pop up from  time to time, although it will not be soon. that I can promise you."

...of Jedi and Sith

Amidst rumors of the broken peace treaty between the Dark Lords of the Sith, otherwise known as the Sith Empire on Byss and the various Jedi factions, the Kalway Order of Jedi in particular.. Star News sent a reporter to Yavin VI to try to find out some information and talked to Grand Master Iria of the KOJ.

Iria Tuqiri: "Well first, lets be clear on one point... there was no peace treaty. They proposed one, but treaties are up to governments and politicians to determine for themselves. Jedi cannot enter into treaties on behalf of sovereign worlds. What they proposed to the jedi was simply a cease fire, while the various planetary and system governments were contacted about a peace treaty. At least that is how it was supposed to have gone."

Star News: "So what went wrong?"

Iria Tuqiri: "Well that will take a bit of explaining. We should start at the beginning and understand how this situation evolved, then when we get to what actually went wrong it will be easier to understand. Many people seem to be wrongly informed about all this."

Iria Tuqiri: "This all began one fine afternoon, when out of the blue three Sith openly stolled into our academy, claimed they were not here to cause trouble, voluntarily gave up their weapons. When they finally stated their business, they said they could only speak to me in private. After some negotiation on the particulars, I agreed to hear what the envoy had to say. He told me that the Sith were tired of war, that they had no more stomach for it, despite their teachings and were going to be proposing peace with the Jedi. I was extremely skeptical, but continued to hear him out. That envoy turned out to be none other than Darth Atrox. He wanted my opinions on how the Jedi would react to such a proposal. I told him none will believe or trust it, and that everyone will be waiting for the trap to be sprung. He insisted that this proposal was sincere and genuine. He asked that I put together a small contingent of Jedi and travel to Byss for a diplomatic meeting where they would outline their proposal in more detail. And then he left without incident.

The very next day, he again arrives back on Yavin IV, but this time he is much more anxious and worried about security and again asks to speak in private, but this time agrees to other enclave representatives to be present. He says we should no longer meet on Byss for his diplomatic meeting, that not all Sith are in favor of this peace, and that he could no longer guarantee our safety while there. It was at this point that I pointedly asked him again if the Sith were serious about peace. He said they were. I said the Sith have been instigating attacks on Onderon, which undermines his position and claim. I said if he were serious, that they needed to put a stop to those attacks. He said it would be done. He wasn't sure what Sith were attacking, but would do all he could so that he could prove the sincerity of their peace proposal. These last three statements are very important, and come into play later when things go wrong. Anyway, I said the diplomatic meeting if it's agreed to, should be held in a neutral location of the jedi's choosing. He agreed. I agreed to bring the issue before the High Council. And again, he left Yavin IV without incident.

I met with the High Council. We all agreed this was most certainly a trap. We were all skeptical and did not really believe such a thing would be possible. But if there was even the slimmest of chances it was genuine, it was not something we could just simply ignore, either. Think of all the lives it could save, if true. The High Council chose Kessel Gate as the location. And the diplomatic meeting was arranged. All the while the Jedi were preparing for the other shoe to fall, for the trap to be sprung. At the meeting, Atrox representing the Sith proposed, that since governments had to decide on a treaty for themselves and that the Jedi could not enter into agreements on their behalf, a cease fire. The Sith would immediately stand down in all conflicts, withdraw forces from occupied worlds, and said that as long as we do not attack them, they would not attack the Jedi. This is a key point. As is this next statement. He went on to say that any Sith not acting in support of this cease fire and peace proposal  would not only be an enemy of the Jedi, but an enemy of the Sith, as well. The meeting concluded, the Jedi still not sure about their sincerity or resolve. All parties left Kessel Gate without incident."
 
Iria Tuqiri: "However, and this IS the point where the other shoe finally fell, and the trap was sprung. The attacks on Onderon did not stop, despite the assurances that they would in accordance with the cease fire. I traveled to Onderon personally to speak with the queen. We pledged to them aid and support in their defense. The Queen said GAR had tracked the Sith attackers back to Mustafar and asked us to assist GAR to help put a stop to the attacks on Onderon. As a result, two of our members went to assist GAR on Mustafar and were injured in the process. Master Atlantis went to retrieve them. Upon arrival, she found our members injured, and was herself set upon by attackers. She drew her lightsaber in preparation to defend herself, and said she was only there to remove the injured. They attacked her and she did defend herself, and saved the other two. Upon her return to Yavin IV, Sith arrived almost immediately demanding we turn her over to them, claiming that we had violated the cease fire agreement. Resources on Onderon informed us that the Sith that had been attacking Onderon were of the Imperial Inquisition, which, as it also turns out, are at minimum allies with Byss, if not members of the Byss Empire. What this means is that the peace claiming Sith of Byss, which had proposed the cease fire, never ceased firing at all. This was all a ruse to draw the Jedi into war and vilify them in public opinion as instigators of war in the face of peace from the Sith."

Iria Tuqiri: "So that is how all this began, and what went wrong."
 
Star News: "Will there be war between the Jedi and the sith?"

Iria Tuqiri: "I believe war was their intent from the beginning. If it is to happen or not, is not entirely clear at this time. As a result of our actions in the aid of Onderon, one of our Jedi, Master Xzhar Seatreader, felt we acted wrongly and felt that the honor of KOJ and the Jedi had been damaged. When the Sith came again for Master Atlantis, wanting to put her on trial, they confronted me saying since we would not turn over Atlantis to them, would I agree to stand in her place. I said that I would, but Master Xzhar had other plans. He felt the stakes were too high to allow me to be taken to Byss in custody, and so he insisted, despite my protestations, of taking the place for Atlantis, and me. The Sith gave him the option of a court trial, or trial by combat, again despite my protests, he chose trial by combat. The trial did not go well. He... He sacrificed himself for our honor. To service what the Sith called justice, he paid the ultimate price. His selflessness might just have been enough to prevent the war from coming. It is not yet certain. One thing that is certain, had he not acted in such a heroic and selfless manner, we already would be at open war with the Sith."

Star News: "Will there be ceremony. A home coming I should say for Master Xzhar?"

Iria Tuqiri: "We plan to, yes. Once we have his body back home, we will hold a ceremony in his honor. A proper remembrance and thank you for his ultimate service to the Jedi." 

Iria Tuqiri: But we must also remember the last line of the jedi code... "There is no death, there is the force." Master Xzhar is now one with the force. Taking his place among history's luminaries such as Masters Yoda and Luke Skywalker, and Obi-wan. While we will miss him as part of our daily lives, he is still with us in the force and in great company.

the Byss Empire speaks

Star News next traveled to Byss to talk to Darth Atrox about the peace treaty.

Star News: "last time we were here we had nice chat about the peace treaty. Today It may seem the peace treaty is all in flame." 

Darth Atrox: "The peace agreement is in flames because the Jedi of Yavin made it so. I am sure you understand that even in times of peace, we cannot allow a mockery to be made of our Empire or the Empire's allies. Peace negotiations are a tricky endeavor. You know, all involved parties do not simply acquiesce immediately. Aside from the fact that I have no recollection of the question being asked, it is important that the galaxy understands that we were working for peace between our allies on Mustafar and Onderon simultaneously as we were working for peace with the Jedi. Can I fault the Jedi for engaging in activities tantamount to an invasion of a sovereign world? Yes, I can and I do fault them for that. But I am glad that you came here today because I have an announcement that concerns all sentients in the galaxy."

Star News: "What announcement would that be?"

Darth Atrox: "This is the dawn of the new era of the Sith. Where there exists chaos, we provide order. Where there are atrocities, we provide justice. Therefore, I want each and every planet within the known galaxy to listen to my next words very carefully. We are strong. Our allies on Mustafar are strong. Together, as equals, no power rivals us. We are coming for every system in the galaxy. We will establish order and we will deliver on the peace that we have promised each and every person. No planet is exempt from this. No order, no organization, no individual is exempt from this." He paused, allowing that to sink in for a moment before continuing, "Those who embrace order and value the lives of their citizens will lay down their arms upon our arrival. They shall be treated with the utmost respect for their dignity as sentient beings." he continued with "But those who do not embrace us. Those who would prefer to use violence to proliferate their twisted ways of life, well, they will meet an unfortunate end. Let no man or woman doubt our resolve. We are back. Expect us."

G.A.R. comments

Star News met up with GAR during a training exercise to ask them questions about Onderon, Mustafar and their involvement with Yavin IV.

Star News: " Hello, is there any news to report today?"
(Major) "Snoop" F7414:  "Other then an average patrol on Yavin IV, no. Although if you have any other questions I am open with answers."

Star News: "How is Onderon? Any more attacks? Has Yavin Involvement made them a target as well?"

(Major) "Snoop" F7414: "Actually, G.A.R recently succeed in its operation against Mustafar which raged on for the past few months. Their defensive fleet was smashed by the might of the Grand Army vessels. And their ground force's moral crumbled under the might of the Grand Army soldiers. They have not dared to step upon Onderon since."

Star News: " What will G.A.R do now that threat of Mustafar attacking Onderon is over. Will they help defend Yavin or any other place that is threatened by Mustafar?"

(Major) "Snoop" F7414 nods. "The Grand Army will ensure that Mustafar remains and check and does not receive the opportunity the expand its borders into neighboring galactic sectors." he takes a breath. "As for Yavin, we have remained strong allies since the beginning of their order. The Sith Empire upon Byss seeks to rise out of the ashes once again and cause havoc. However as shown from our patrol and military exercise here today the Grand Army will not allow any harm to be done to Yavin IV or its order."

Star News: " Well I won't keep you and thank you for allow Star news to speak with you."

(Major) "Snoop" F7414: "Always a pleasure to let the Galaxy know G.A.R still does its job without a second thought.

Bombings on LME

Star News traveled to Tatooine on a tip that there had been bombings in the downtown area and people had been injured. We caught up with some survivors at the med center in Mos Eisley and talked to Jedi Tahayul of the Knights of Arcadia.
StarNews: "What happen here."
Tahayul: "Kinsa, hello... I've been investigating. My prelims show that a new faction is responsible for the bombing at the Unlucky. they've also bombed the hotel, and the imperial garrison. it seems one of their agents may have been killed only a few minutes ago in a firefight with garrison troops."
Star News: " who is this New Faction?"
Tahayul: "That much I haven't been able to completely determine. but they are well organized, and seem to have military training.
Star News: "what steps are been taken to provide more safe environment for the citizen of LME?"
Tahayul: "The troops were a bit occupied with their own investigations. the only answer i got was "move along"
Star News: "Was there any eye witness to who planted the bombs?"
Tahayul:  "Actually, I came in late. I was asked by Mos Eisley officials, as well as my own group, to investigate. you might consider asking them, as they were present during the attack." he motioned to the wounded survivors, so Star News asked one that seemed to be a bit woozy but able to talk.
Star News: "Did you see who planted the bomb?"
Bomb victim #1: "It was a very twitchy guy in clone armor.. he ran in, ran out.. an hey.. is there really two of you..? I think the meds are kicking in..." 
Star News: "Can you tell me what you saw?"
Bomb victim #2 "I don't really have much more to add.. he looked like a stormtroper of some sort he said something and then ran out.. then there was an explosion.. thats really it.."
Star News: "Do you have any enemies that would wish you harm?"
Bomb victim #1: "Am I still real?.. Mom?"

Bomb victim #2 "I'm sure we do... but from what Tah says.. it doesn't seem like it was targeted at us.. Im not sure."
Tahayul: "Target of opportunity, as near as I can tell, yes."

Star News: " I thank you for your time. please keep us informed about what your learn from your investigations sir Tahayul."

Heavy Security at Cartel Night

Perhaps due to recent bombing rumors security was up at Cartel night while attendance was down. Still, a good amount of brave or perhaps uninformed people filled the bar and newly remodeled show room where the Hutts held their weekly public business night. Spotted in the audience once more was Shaka the Huttling of the Hutt Council once located on Nar Shaddaa. 

This night Cartel boss Issulla Odominic, Jengaz Besadii and Rolga Bareesh took to the thrones to answer and do business with the public. The event was hosted by Meeka D'Lux of clan Bareesh.

As per usual, the night started with an announcement by Meeka D'Lux: "I would like to start with an announcement about Belutric. After his tirates last week the Cartel hunted him down.. to where he cowarded in a cellar and took him prisoner. He is in our dungeons as I speak... but there are rumors that he had a.. I know this sounds far fetched.. clone that has resumed his business. The Cartel will also hunt down this clone and eliminate it like slug it is." Issulla then added that the Cartel was canceling all bounties placed on Belutric Nasirii because no one knows how many clones he might have.

The next announcement came from Rolga Bareesh: '"It has come to my attention that forces in the galaxy seek to do harm to the Cartel and Bareesh, these forces are seeking to destroy the Cartel and it's members, I say to those fools, we are here and ready for your attempt, if you're ready to die."

Neither Issulla or Jengaz had any announcements so the first speaker of the night stepped forward onto the newly added grate to speak. The first speaker was Kaelinn X of Arcadia: "Yes.. well.. I am Kaelinn X as you all know... the one who runs Arcadia. It is true that the Hutt contract we once held has been voided.. some wounds run deep and cannot be healed.. others.. maybe just in time. But for now I want it to be known to the public that Arcadia no longer has ties to the Hutt Cartel. Paranoia, greed and rumors have destroyed that. I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors."
Jengaz Besadii replied: "We have nothing to say, is good that now everyone knows the Cartel is no longer related to Arcadia in any way." with a mighty Hutt laugh.
And as the Arcadian leader turned to leave Rolga Bareesh added: "Your words have been heard, hear mine Arcadian leader, there are rumors of attacks perpetrated by Arcadia toward the Cartel, while I only see them as rumors should they become fact we would have problems, until that time we have no further business."
Kaelinn X, well known for her temper heard this and returned to address Rolga: "You are paranoid to think a rag tag group like Arcadia would ever go to war with multiple Hutt Clans Rolga.. I'm not that stupid. You all know it was I who made the Cartel what it is today.. but then to try to steamroll us into being your servants? Nah. I have no ill will or feelings towards the Cartel. Do as you want, whatever you can.. but to give into silly rumors and paranoia? Bad business. But I wish you the best. Truth is.. I never needed you anyway. I wish you luck" Issulla remained silent and Jengaz simply laughed at Kaelinn X as she exited the grate.

Meeka then called up the next speaker, a youngling dressed as a Jedi, most likely a padawon. he steped up onto the grate and started by saying: "My name is Padawan Argent.  ..and my translator is broken. I... my master....  we want to know.  aren't the Hutts concerned?  I... we ... just learned there was a second bombing here in the hotel, we just want to know what you are doing to protect yourselves?  it's really brave of you coming to another event here while the attacks are going on."
Jengaz the Hutt wsa noted as looking confused by this information but since Meeka did not translate it is anyone's guess as to what he was saying to the other Cartel members, but it caused a bit of a stir with the Hutts speaking back and forth amongst themselves and Meeka not translating their conversation.
Rolga however spoke up and asked the youngling: "Padawan, you must have heard something of the permafrost crystals Tompuynka acquired recently, yes?"
Padawan Argent looked confused and said: "Crystals? no. what about crystals?" he then when on to say the reason he was here: "Mighty Issulla, great Hutts, I understand wanting to keep your own counsel, my masters do it all the time.  we are simply concerned now about your clients' safety." 
Meeka then asked: "Who are your masters young one?"
Padawan Argent replied: "I am a padawan of the Knights of Arcadia."
Meeka responded: "Arcadia? Didn't you hear the disdain that the Cartel has for Arcadia? Please be gone youngling."
After it was determine there were no more speakers or business... Cartel called the business night closed, and as the crowd was filling out Meeka announced she will be once more going on vacation.

Hutt Night LME is a weekly event at 6pm slt in the Hotel, downtown Mos Eisley and is open to all business or onlookers.

Bombing Investigation Concludes

After an extensive investigation Jedi Tahayul of the Knights of Arcadia found some answers to the bombing of the Unlucky Cantina once known as Chullman's and the reported bombings of Chullman's Hotel where the Hutts gather for Cartel Night in downtown Mos Eisley.

According to his report after interviewing many people he found out that there was a regiment of clones found in cryogenic deep freeze and when thawed out one didn't thaw right and went on a bombing spree reportedly bombing not only local historic buildings but also the nearby Imperial Stormtrooper Corps garrison. The rouge clone trooper was pursued by members of the ISC and shot dead in the streets of Mos Eisley with hopefully an investigation to follow as too who thawed out the clone troopers and where they are now.

Rebuilding Endor

Star News recently traveled to Endor to check in on the status and ask a few questions of Arbitras Rexsus II

Arbitras Rexsus II: " Endor has quite a population of Ewoks and Gupins among few other species... sadly most of the Ewok tribes now are off on other locations for safety  and closure" he continued: "After the war the Ewoks and some citizens were evacuated for precaution that they'd be attack now the war is over. Some decided to remain in their locations and feel at peace there...  there are very few tribes left in this forest hidden in the off lands and mountains"

Star News: "What steps are being taken to rebuild Endor after the war?"

Arbitras Rexsus II: "We are mostly maintaining Endor now as a museum of such... soon into he future  although we might think on building deeper in the woods"

Arbitras Rexsus II: "Our bunker once had a sencond entrance to the Cortosis Mines, which I personally knew the location and we also had a security door  during our old long time war with DOR and other sith enemies.  That door was destroyed after alot of battles... many lives lost during those wars... although its up now the bunker still has a bit of damages from war and we placed a plack of memoriam of all who died here. Now that entrance is gone and so is the second to the cave, there is only one last entrance and I still know it's location and will keep it under watch and unknown to others."

Arbitras Rexsus II: "This Endor village is where I was born mostly raised... I've lived this village for a long time and was raised like royalty. Many Ewok's enjoyed my royal blood lines being here and helped me live among them. The Ewok population used to be around the range of 60,000  each thousand a tribe  now its down to 5,000  or so and much smaller tribes." then continued "Sadly most of that is because of the war, but soon many will come back but to different parts of the forest perhaps"

Star News: "have you thought about getting aid from others to help with rebuilding?"

Arbitras Rexsus II:  "We've searched and not many have offered their services or help, but we are sure someone will come around and help"

Star News: "So how has GRAE taken the move to Yavin IV, and are they treated well by the KOJ and the community of Yavin IV?"

Arbitras Rexsus II: "Yavin Jedi have been quite at ease for our presences there, no troubles yet and soon we hope to have alliance talks with them"

Sith Empire demands justice

An altercation occurred on Yavin IV when a group of Sith from Byss arrived to take a member of the Kalway Order of Jedi into custody for breaking the recently signed peace treaty between the Sith Empire and the various Jedi organizations.

Darth Atrox, the very person who proposed the idea of the peace treaty between the Sith of Byss and the Jedi approached a small group of KOJ and stated his business... "We are here on diplomatic accord as per the cease fire established by our two orders. We are here because, unfortunately, this cease fire has been violated. Even more unfortunately, this violation has occurred at the hands of Master Jedi Atlantis of your order. WE...are here because an injustice has been committed and, as such, compensation shall now be sought."

Lady Clandestine then spoke up and added ..."Atlantis. You have broken your order's peace treaty with the Sith. We demand justice. To take you in to stand trial for your actions." 

Master Xzhar of the Kalway Order asked "What proof do you have of such claims?"  and then stated "As you can imagine, without proof we would be unwilling to hand over one of our own to you. We protect our own just as you would protect your own. If your claims have proof behind them, present it. Otherwise, I doubt there is anything we can do for you. We will not hand over one of our own to you without undeniable proof and a trial"

As tensions mounted on both sides, Master Atlantis stepped forward in an attempt to clearify..."Let me clear this matter up. I asked them allow me to bring my fellow Jedi home, they wouldn't so they attacked me. I was only defending myself and my fellow Jedi brothers. now the peace treaty was with between Byss. I believe Byss said they had nothing to do with the other Sith. Now if Byss is with the other Sith then the peace treaty was already broken when the Sith attacked Ondron." she was of course referring to the Imperial Inquisition's recent foiled invasion attempt on Onderon. 

But Darth Atrox insisted, "It is as Lady Clandestine says. One of your members has committed a grave offense against another party protected under this cease fire. As unfortunate as this whole ordeal is, we must insist that you turn over Master Atlantis to us for what will be a fair trial. The jurisdiction of this offense falls under Musafar and, as such, the trial must, by galactic law, take place there." He paused for a moment and responded to Xzhar, "As fate would have it, friend, we do have compelling evidence." He then motioned to Lady Clandestine for her to produce the evidence that she held. Lady Clandestine took a few steps forward, pulling from a pouch at her side a data chip. Holding up the data chip she said... "I have proof here that your Jedi Master Atlantis pulled her sabers out on our people" and She placed the chip in the hands of Master Xzhar.

While everyone looked uneasy, Master Atlantis spoke up again to try to explain the situation better... "Like said before I asked them to allow my brothers to go with me to Yavin and yes I had my blade out but I never attacked. It was more of warning." She then explained that the first acts of aggression came from the Sith Lord... " He said; 'You dear threaten a Sith Lord' and then I was slam against the floor."

Darth Atrox admitted ... "Many plausible ideas here. I must default, however, to the party with the grievance. Lady Clandestine shall make this decision." giving Lady Clandestine a chance to speak... "...It was your people that walked into a battlefield on our planet. Your people that pulled their sabers on ours. The fact that sabers were pulled on us even is a declaration of war however we only seek justice."

Jedi Master Xzhar held his ground and stated that he could not turn over a member of the KOJ to the Sith Empire without proof of the wrong doing.

With a stalemate it seemed... neither side quiet ready to make a full step that would lead to war, both sides agreed to leave the data chip with the Kalway Jedi and give them a limited time to review the evidence before Master Atlantis is handed over to the Sith Empire and brought to trail on Mustafar, or simply allowed to go free without a trial. Is the beginning of the end of the peace treaty? the starting of a war or perhaps even something bigger.. only time will tell and Star News will keep you posted. 

Imperial Inquisition fragments

Star News traveled to Nar Shaddaa to investigate rumors of a split in the ranks of the Imperial Inquisition where we tracked down and chatted with Cyprus Talon  to get clarification about the changes.

Cyprus Talon: "We were the Sith Order known as the Imperial Inquisition. All those who remain there are ill advised ruses of the Sith destined to die on the land they call theirs. The Sith that I called my brothers on Mustafar are dead, gone with the wind of the force. What remains of them are lost beings seeking unbound glories that they will never achieve. The reason myself and the others left is simple. When there is a dying insect do you shelter it? Do you keep it alive to see another day? We felt the insect that is the Imperial Inquisition was and is destine to die, never to be seen again. They became far to week to be a formidable Sith Order."

He then went on to talk about why the move to Nar Shaddaa.

Cyprus Talon: "Nar Shaddaa is the birthplace of many who call this galaxy home. We come here simply for the fear, the terror, the pain this mighty city has within it. It feasts on the fear of the weak who dare enter its walls. And we, as Sith find this endless feast quite appetizing."

He continued...

" We are the Imperial Reich. We plan to emerge through the shadows, layer by layer. The galaxy will soon know who we are."

Arcadia Interviews

Star News caught up with Arcadian Advisor Emmy in the Space Port known as Kessel Gate to get a few answers to some questions about the up and coming group known as Arcadia. 

Star News: "What does being an advisor mean? What are your duties for Arcadia?"
Emily: "well just what it sounds like I guess. I help the Matriarch with planning and such along with anything else she needs."

Star News: "The Matriarch is a fairly well known and controversial figure in the Galaxy, can you tell us a little about her?"
Emily: "She is not exactly hidden by any means.. those who need to know and work with us know who she is... I've had the pleasure of working with her for quite awhile now... She is a great leader, even if she doesn't think so her self sometimes. maybe the most determined person I've ever met. Though our crew is always looking out for Arcadia, she is always open and willing to work with almost anyone.... as long as its mutually beneficial of course."

Star News: "Can you tell us a little about Arcadia... there is some talk about what they actually do.. but no one seems to know for sure. What can you tell us?"
Emily: "That is a bit of a tricky question.. there is no straight label that would truly fit our group. It is true Arcadia started as a bunch of pirates, but we have since moved on from this... mostly.. Now I guess you could call us opportunists.. again, we do most anything that benefits us in the end. right now our biggest project is working with the Hutt Cartel on Mos Eisley."

Star News: "What are some of the futures plans for Arcadia?"
Emily: "I think that would be a question better suited for the Matriarch herself. I must admit even I don't know many of her plans. How ever I feel Arcadia is in a strong place right now and will most likely be looking to expand into other things as we see fit"

Meet the Hutt Cartel

Issulla Odominic, Ord Mantel

We first traveled to Ord Mantel to talk with the Cartel's apparent leader Issulla Odominic.

Star News: "The first question is about the move from Nar Kreeta to Ord Mantel... what was the reason for this and what does Ord have to offer?"
Issulla Odominic: "Ord Mantell has a client base for this casino, the Drunken Gundark. Smugglers and all sorts travel here, we intend to start a mining operation here and there are plans for a swoop track thru the city. We are currently assembling a new ship yard facility here"

Star News: "Let's talk about the Hutt Cartel. What is your position in it and how do you see it progressing?"
Issulla Odominic: "I am a senior member of the Cartel and only time will tell. I forsee great profits. Belutric is an old fool and our business night is still a rather new thing in the galaxy..."

Jengaz Besadii, Makeb

Star News then went to Makeb to chat with Jengaz Besadii, leader of the Besadii Kajidic and one of the senior members of the Hutt Cartel.

Star News: "Can you tell us a little about the type of business Besadii specializes in?"
Jengaz: Traffic and business with Spice, poison and other chemicals, I have a love and appreciation for artifacts, mainly the rarest of course, and I intend to add more and more of them in my collection. Fashion is one of the things I really like and care about, I'm always well dressed, and I like it.

Star News: May we ask about the Cartel.. why the formation of the Cartel, why not simply bring back the Council?"
Jengaz: "Council was already lost when I returned to Nar Shaddaa after some months in Makeb. There was only a few members, the tragedy in Nar Shaddaa showed everyone that the Hutts needed a new way to return to glory and power, in the old council is just Belutric, all the other council Hutts decided to join the new cartel, and it is working very well. The cartel is growing stronger.''

Star News: "What are the future plans for the Cartel? anything you can mention?"
Jengaz: "For now is simple, make business, profit and grow to be powerful."

Rolga Bareesh, LME

Next Star News traveled to Tatooine and spoke to Rolga Bareesh in the Bareesh tower.

Star News: "My first question is can you tell us your name, clan affiliation and position in the Cartel?"
Rolga Bareesh: "I am Rolga Bareesh, of the Bareesh clan, I am currently a junior Cartel member. I have been in the weapons business since my days on Mos Espa, the Bareesh clan has other interest such as a small piece in the slave trade, a larger piece of the droid market, but our main dealings are weapons...we deal mainly in ship board weapons, ammunition, weapon systems, and explosives, lightsabers and blasters are a saturated market and would be worthless to us"

Star News: "Can you comment on some of the differences between the Cartel and the Council? The Cartel is relatively new and I am sure people at first glace can and will mistake it for the Council... "
Rolga Bareesh: "As you may know Bareesh was not on the Hutt Council, it was never offered to us and we did not seek out a partnership with the Council, their business did not appeal to us anyway, the Council is all but gone now and the remnants of it only linger in afterthought, the Cartel is actively doing business, we look for profitable ventures and are eager to explore more lucrative partnerships, the Cartel is very much about business and leaving the dramatic politics to Hutts that appear to have more tongue for it"

When asked about Belutric Nasirii's recent outburst at the Cartel's business night continues...

Rolga Bareesh: "Anyone that knows Belutric Nasirii will know he is the adolescent one, I suspect when he gets my age he'll calm down and let go of childish ideas and focus more on things that matter, such as good business"

Star News: "What, if any, are the future plans for the Cartel besides doing what they are already doing?"
Rolga Bareesh: "while I cannot comment on specific dealings I can tell you that the Cartel is only getting started, when it comes economic dominance, it's a bright future for the Cartel and for Bareesh... I heard a comment from a businessman on Nar Shaddaa who, after hearing of the formation of the Cartel, stated 'I fear we have awakened a sleeping giant'"

 Tompunka Bareesh, Kessel system

On a mining facility in the Pit Asteroid field is where we met up with perhaps the most active of the Cartel, Tompunka Bareesh.

Star News: "First.. let's start with the basics... could you please state your name and position in the Cartel, as well as your clan affiliations?"
ŦöɱƤǔƞƘą: "I am TomPunKa, Leader of Clan Bareesh, of the Great Hutts, and Representative to the Hutt Cartel which meets on Tatooine, at Mos Eisley. I oversee the Clan's business endeavors and share in such duties with my kin member Rolga. We see that the investments of Clan Bareesh are wisely handled overall, along with our individual interests as time permits... people can expect the products that they seek if those products are to be had by my resources"

Star News: "What is your relationship to Rolga?"
ŦöɱƤǔƞƘą: "Rolga and I are born of the same parent. Rolga is my sibling"

Star News: "It has been rumored that you specialize in the gem business, and as we are starting to see.. other endevors as well. Can you elabrorate on you buisness ventures?"
ŦöɱƤǔƞƘą: "I have a personal interest in collecting precious stones that do not originate on conventional planetary bodies... but rather, are found in places such as asteroids, or comets, or other, more exotic locations."

Star News: "I would like to talk about the Cartel a little bit. The Hutt Cartel is relatively new to the Galaxy, and has grown out of the Hutt Council. Can you comment on the Cartel, what is it that makes it different from the Hutt Council?"
ŦöɱƤǔƞƘą: "The Hutt Council has stagnated, grown complacent, and some might suggest 'senile' in its corporate aging... The Cartel formed in desperation, and a hope and dream to revive the Greatness of the Hutt Legacy, bring new life into the body before it rots and dies of neglect... I have not conversed with Brother Belutric, nor has he cared to approach the Bareesh Clan since I have taken a forward role in the Clan management. I will say that, had the Hutt Council been more in tune with the needs of the Hutt people and Legacy, surely a Cartel would not have taken form and rose to its place" ..."The Hutt Legacy, the Hutt Livelihood, will continue regardless of those that react after lying comatose and in their shells. Sadly in some ways, but necessarily, Life must be fostered, rekindled, fed and exercised... If it does not, then the only alternative to life is death. We are not ready to die."

the Council crashes Cartel Night

One more on a hot sandy night on Mos Eisley the Hutt Cartel gathered for public business night. In attendance this night to represent the Cartel were Issulla Odominic, Jengaz Basadii, and sibling Hutts Rolga and Tompunka Bareesh. Tompunka's Majordomo helped with some of the translations and security and the event was hosted by Kaelinn X. In the crowd this night were well known Hutt Council members Shaka the Huttling as well as Bellutric Nasirii, who seemed quiet comfortable and healthy.

As always, the night started with announcements by the Cartel themselves. First up was Issulla who announced the New Drunken gundark cassino and cantina on Ord Mantell will soon be open for business.

Rolga then announced a reminder about a contract with the Cartel and Arcadia, a "Mutual Buisness" contract that says if anyone has business with the Cartel or wishes to talk with them about business they can contact Arcadia who will set up meetings with the Cartel and assist the Hutts when and only if needed

Tompunka then announced that clansman and kin Na'Quieal Bareesh is investing in diversifying the Bareesh holdings by opening up a chemical processing plant on the world of Qesh.

Jengaz added that Na'Guieal is his cousin and he is proud of his work with Bareesh.

With the announcements done the first speaker was called up, Tyrron of Yavin IV. Stepped up to where he could address the Cartel and began...“Greetings, dear Hutts. My respect goes out to all of you. I am Sir Tyrron Archria, representative and member of the Kalway Order of Jedi. One of the Jedi Masters have sent me here to deliver a message. The message is as follows….”  “I have been told that you have offered to trade with our Order and to commence a business relation. As much as we are humbled by this approach, I have to report that the offer will have to be discussed by our Jedi Council first before we respond or come to any sort of agreement. I ask for patience in the meantime as it is discussed but we ensure that as soon as we come to a decision, you will be informed very quickly. I hope our deliberation does not bother you.”
Then Jedi Master Iria asked to speak "May I address the distinguished council? I am grand master Iria Tuqiri of the Kalway Order of Jedi. It came to our attention through Master Atlantis that the hutts requested a meeting tomorrow on Yavin IV. That meeting is still taking place, and we will hear the hutts trade proposal. After which, as Sir Tyrron point out, it will be discussed by our council and then we will let the hutt council know our decision."

Hutt Council member Shaka, in the crowd spoke up and asked "Is this open to all Hutts or only the Cartel?' obviously looking to do business with the KOJ or perhaps just steal the Cartels business out from under their noses and right in front of the Cartel.

Answering the Jedi, Jengaz replied... "We understand this case, we are able to wait, but after the meeting, as soon as possible we want you to contact us, we can't let business wait to long."

Iria hearing Shaka's addressed Shaka by saying: "The request we received came from the cartel. I have no objection to including others if they have similar proposals." And she stated out loud the time and place of the meeting after which Belutric Nasirii was heard saying to Iria "This is interesting. If you wish to talk with hutts direct rather than through some glorious bauble on stage talk with me. I will attend your meeting "

Issulla then asked .... "could it be possible to hear from our rep first before other Hutts?" To which Iria responded  "I will leave such matters to the hutts as to who they wish to attend. The cartel were the ones that made the request for the meeting. If they object to the other's attendance, a separate meeting can be scheduled another time."

Shaka was on the docket and called upon next to speak: "As everyone knows I'm a miner. I'm looking for a new territory to mine. Issulla you've got Sleheyron. I don't know about you others but are you interested in working out an arrangement? My people can mine in vacuum, under the sea or surface. Same goes for you in the audience if you have represent some organization. My workmen are bonded and I don't pollute your rivers."
Issula responded by saying "there are mines in Ord Mantell I can arrange to secure a contract for you"
Council member Shaka thought about it a second and then said "Very well. Comm me."
While Hutt Council member Belutric audibly grumbled "More business taken to other planets. What of the business to be done on this planet "
Shaka then said to Belutric "If you wish to make me an offer Belutric I am happy to consider it. I am thinking of opening a small glass factory."

Tompunka then spoke up about Shaka's offer of miners... "I would be pleased to discuss mining operations, and offer my services where able. Though my focus is asteroid processing, and culling out rare gems, I may be able to provide assistance. ...I would be interested in meeting with you about our businesses, Shaka."
But it ws obvious the Hutt Council was here to put up a fight tonight and Belutric stated "I am interested in any business that will bring Tatooine profit and benefit the locals. I will be in contact to talk further about jobs for locals on your mining projects Shaka " With an evil grin.

Shaka responded to Tompunka saying "I have one asteroid mining job currently. Would you be interested in sub contracting to expand your processing?" but then in almost the same breath he turned and said to fellow Hutt Council member "Thank you Belutric. I will want at least a dozen jawas to keep the facility functioning. Sand gets into everything here." This night seemed to be a tug of war between the Cartel and the Council over business.

The next speaker called up was Minx Bade. She wanted to address Rolga Bareesh in specific this night. "Beside me is one of your slaves, he is an arena fighter that you purchased from a local Jawa for what I would say was a rediculas price, this man recently saved my life, and though he could have left me to die and regain his freedom he chose to save me instead" she said and then added "I wish to purchase him from you. I offer.....15,000 credits"
Listening in the crowd, and conducting business like it was his affairs, or perhaps just to once more stir the pot.. Bellutric Nasirii called out in a raised voice... "Auction the slave let us all bit on him so you get a good price... Let us bid on him! "
To this Tompunka responded... "We should perhaps have a proper slave auction. This is not a slave block"
But Issulla whispered o Kaelinn X to announce that the bidding would start at 15000 credits anyway, and when Kaelinn announced it Rolga spoke up and said "There will be no auction for this slave, I have a better idea, you recently made a deal with Bareesh for weapons and ammunition for a mission you plan to carry out soon, but your offer of 70/30 was far to weak for my taste, lets renegotiate and add in your slave and we make it 40/60" Belutric, not listening or perhaps wanting to instigate called out a bid of 50,000 credits anyway adding "Thats if you hutts can decide on who is making the decisions tonight " which in turn made an angry Rolga once more state "THERE IS NO BIDDING FOR THIS SLAVE" and Issulla backed up Rolga with ..."Its rolgas decision, his property"
Meanwhile, in the crowd Minx was obviously working out the prices in her head for the 60/40 split... and Jengaz spoke up "Let's remember that people come here to deal WITH THE CARTEL, and about the slave, this is NOT a public sale" It was obvious the chaos factor that the Hutt Council brought was causing a few frayed nerves. Minx spoke up "I am from Tattooine, and I beg you mighty Rolga, please reconsider" To this Rolga responded "Minx, you know who we are and what we do, this is no secret to you as our business dealings go back many years now, but you ask for favors and we don't deal in favors, you need to bring me something worth our time, I don't need to teach you this... Bring me slaves equal his value, I measure his worth to be at lest three common slaves or two arena fighters at least"
At this point a man approached the stage dressed in black robes. He was asked to step back by the host but he stood his ground even as security stepped forward "My business is what is being discussed now. it is by my own hand he stands as he does now. I know at this point i have no right to simply claim him back. I do wish to buy him back to give profit to the Hutts as per a normal slave buying, as he is now their property"
Kaelinn reminded the man that "Rolga already stated that the slave is not for sale"
Then Jengaz spoke up... "I would like to see a good fight"
Rolga, the rightful owner of the slave chimed in "I am a gambler and I enjoy the arena fights most of all, I wager his life to you if he wins in a match to any other fighter of my choosing, to the death'"
Minx Bade argued: "Wait, this is not what we agreed on"

The Other Hutts getting restless.. both Issulla and Tmpunka called that this matter be settled and on with business.. so Rolga offered a final choice, take the fight deal, yes or no. The stranger took the deal and it is to be arranged.

The final speaker of the night was called up "Ok so yea Im Felicia Im kinda running the cantina and I'm looking for employees to help out and get the place running.. I do have a drink i would like to give out to you that was made for the cantina its a hallucinogenic though so do be careful. Hutts drink free I do believe. Using Arcadia's resorses and some of my own and some things from the 13th Legion. I made a alcoholic drink that has chemicals designed to induse the brain to perduce massive abounts of dopomine the chemical that causes you to dream making you high. I used the legal chemical list I was given so the chemicals are all legal making it not some back water substance but im still edditing the mixture I have so far made 2 versions one I scraped cus it was not potent enough I'm working now on a 3rd version"
Listening in, Council Hutt Shaka asked "That is interesting. What sort of dreams are they?"
And Felicia explained "Well what it does is make there dreams become there reality it induces a dream like state while there awake. and the dreams are up to there subconcious... but as well as offering this drink im looking for employees for the cantina, I'm short staffed and need decent people to run things, however if you like I can give you Hutts a sample?""
Shaka answered back... "I feel thirsty. I will be happy to test this for you and provide feedback as you work on refining it."
Jengaz responded about the cantina... "The place is good for hutts to come and meet, as soon as possible I'll come there and see what you have to offer."

Before closing for the night the host Kaelinn asked if anyone one had anything else to say.. including the Hutts in the audience that made up the Council, and Tompunka echoed her sentiment "I would be very glad to hear what our Hutt Guests have to offer" To which Shaka offered up one more bit of business  "I've started a new business line refining the grain products I grow into alcohol which will in the next day or so be available at the local cantina here on a trial run."

With that, Jengaz closed the business night... "This is all for tonight, and Belutric is sleeping I guess so...."
And Tompunka addressed the crowd one last time... "The investments in Qesh may provide some 'intriguing products', should anyone be familiar with the toxic things found there...."

The weekly swoop races once more buzzed through the streets of Mos Eisley, bringing a large and diverse group of racers from all over the galaxy to try their nerves in the hair pin corners daunting obsticles that dot the track. The swoops were provided by builder and engineer Minx Bade, and free to use for racing, or even practicing while no one is around. When the race started it was close, as favorites as well as veteran races tore up the sandy track. But in the end.. there can only be one winner of the first place cash prize, and this time it as Nora Saria, followed by Rhona Steele, Posan, Icy and finally Maria Cybertar. No fatalities this week mean the races will continue next week at the same time.

 Star News interviews GNN

Star News caught up with Daana Kira and Rakiko Lowtide of GNN for a quick interview.

Star News: "It is an honor to be in your presence again. Personally I feel that the Galaxy hasn't been the same since you have left the public eye.. can you please comment on the status of GNN and what is going on with you two?"

Daana Kira: "GNN is still working, as far as I know, it's just me who had to take a leave to care of family business"

Rakiko Lowtide: "Yes and I've been tagging along, its always nice to see Shilli"

Star News: "There has been a lot of controversy about GNN, some people say it is biased, others feel it is the glue that held the galaxy together, how do you address the controversy, comments like GNN is biased?

Rakiko Lowtide: "I'm not sure what people were ever talking about when they said we were biased. We never had any allegiance to anyone but ourselves and our work. But it just seemed when we did a story about someone the opposing faction would say we were biased. So we've been accused of working for the sith, the hutts, different republics, pirates, and other organizations. I even saw an opinion piece the other day saying we only did Sith and Hutt stories, but then the same author in the next paragraph lists five more organizations we've worked with including the republic trying to show we were biased, its a bit odd."

Daana Kira: "We all have an opinion, GNN tries to stay neutral, therefore don't expres its own opinion. They forward the other's point of view and I suppose some people can't or don't want to make the difference very well."

Star News:"GNN has been absent for a while, in teh meantime a handful of other news blogs and holo zines have sprung up.. such as Star News, the Republic Information Network and the smut 'zine called Latex and Shock, have you viewed any of these and how do you feel about others doing what GNN pioneered?"

Rakiko Lowtide: "Yes I look at other new organizations from time to time. I think its great that more people are interested in trying to showcase things and create debates. I think it only benefits the galaxy if there's more people out there trying to report on topics. And its always been my belief that the majority of the galaxy can determine what's truth or not as long as all intelligent points of views of expressed."

Daana Kira: "It's great if we inspired vocations, I wish them good luck. It would also be nice if they brought up their touch to GNN. The Network isn't just made from a selected few people, but by many employees and contractors"

Star News: "There is an underlying feeling around the galaxy that GNN was run off via smear campaigns, as recently even pointed out and printed in Star News.. is there any validation to the rumor that GNN slowed down or was run out by smear campaigns perpetuated by an individual or group with their own agenda in mind?"

Rakiko Lowtide shakes his head no: "GNN is a large old organization with thousands if not millions of employees around the galaxy. Its a bit to big to be worried about a couple of smear campaigns. The only hindrance that we faces were some people, usually low level employees or soldiers who too the word of someone and decided to try and create problems for us. We always pretty much ignored them, that's what was great about working for GNN, we could go anywhere in the galaxy and only had to worry about each other. We're truly the only free people in the galaxy, a few unfounded 'campaigns" against us, never did anything to us. They only hurt any citizen who was afraid to talk."

Daana Kira: "I didn't have the time to check all the news while on Shili. It's possible some organizations want to control the information, and with an entity such as GNN, they can't. Information can be a source of power. Leaving the others in ignorance is one of the means to assure a domination over them. Not everything is intentional however, there is much hearsay; people talk to each other, and blame others for things they can't and don't know all details of; it's easier to name and blame a well know person than a stealthy one... or than just the natural course of events"

Star News: "I do believe GNN has always pushed for a more unified galaxy through information and exchange of ideas, however, in the modern times there seems to be a rift, do you believe the galaxy can once more be united as one? What would it take in your opinion?"

Rakiko Lowtide: "Not sure, I'm not really a political person nor do I personally don't care for governments except I wish they provide their citizens with the rights and services due to them. There's always people that will do things differently from others. Maybe its not best that it be unified at all as that stifles individualism and opinions. I would just like tot see people respect one another more no matter from what world they are from. Probably the only way for it to work is if it starts at the lowest level, for each individual to really understand who they are personally and to mend the most basic relationships such as between neighbors, then those actions would just naturally flow upwards. But I'm not a political scientist or diplomat"

Daana Kira: "I'm personally glad when people can work together. Unity doesn't necessary mean uniformity. Some people's strength can reinforce other's weakness and vice versa. It's so bad when people stay in their own city, moon or whatever while they could share so much with the rest of the galaxy. Sometimes there is necessity for that, but it shouldn't be everyone's style of life"

Star News: "Is GNN back? and what are the plans for GNN's future?"

Daana Kira: "I don't think GNN was ever gone because two of their reporters are on leave. I can't make announcements about their plans. I'm sorry if that answer disappoints you"

Rakiko Lowtide: "GNN will probably be around for a long time, they are always looking for new reporters and fresh perspectives. Just because we aren't around doesn't change the company, we're only two. If you mean us personally, maybe we'll do more once again one day, maybe not. There's personal things we need to take care of and other interests for now. In fact maybe for a while at least it would be better for new voices to move into our place, we've seen so much that maybe we don't express the same awe we did when we did our first story about some ruins on Dromuund Kaas. At least for me I'll be taking some time to see things with fresh eyes again, even if that just means teaching a cousin about how to operate a ship. GNN leadership always does their own thing, we were always to far from central headquarters to know what new directions they'll take. If any."

Star News: "Of course, GNN will always be around, but I think it is safe to say that the two of you have become the faces of GNN that most people remember when the name is brought up. Is there any parting words you would like to say to the people who have grown up watching you both, first discovered the galaxy thru your reports, and influenced even if they don't acknowledge or admit it."

Daana Kira: "That's very touching. I hope other people will consider the galaxy in its diversity. I wish good luck to all the information providers in the Galaxy"

Rakiko Lowtide:  "I've always been grateful to our readers and honored that were able to fly around the galaxy seeing new places. I would just say try to always learn as much as you can, to take everything calmly and try to understand each and everyone you meet and to do what you love to do while respecting others. I think we've done a good job so far and if we inspired one person then that's awesome, hopefully they'll inspire others and even us one day. I'm thankfully to GNN and for all the people that viewed our reports. Maybe one day we'll jump back in doing multiple reports, or maybe we'll just travel around experiencing the galaxy for ourselves. Its hard to tell what the future holds"

 Rebirth of the Galactic Federation

Captain Kanomi of the Imperial Knights has been busy traveling from planet to planet meeting with their leaders. The word on the street is she is working on something big, something that will bring unity to the Galaxy, a new Galactic Federation. Star News managed to briefly fire off a few questions to her during a short stop back at her home world and base at Tatooine.

Kanomi: "I serve the Imperials of the Fel Dynasty and in the Galactic Federation. It is a trinity of the Imperials, the Jedi, and the Galactic Alliance. All three of the groups share and equal voice and hold a fair number of representatives in the Senate. The Galactic Federation was first truly established with the work of Sia Fels' father, then she rebuilt it after the Sith coup, and I'm carring that on under Sia Fels daughter. we are forming alliances to rebuild the Galactic Federation"

"The main mission is peace and prosperity with all those in the galaxy, open up trade, help each other keep peace, offer support when needed, try to get needed supplies to each other, our hopes is that with the Galactic Federation we can have that"

When asked what planets have already signed and who she has in mind as potential members she said:

Kanomi: "Onderon, the VO Jedi have been most helpful with joining the alliance and arranging meets with the Queen, Yavin IV, Kuri'au, and Byss will be signing a non aggression pact and a trade agreement soon. I plan to meet with the Mandolorians next, Ruusan, Nar Kreetan  and then Taris. I believe that peace and helping each other maintain it will go a long way"

Speaking with Queen Kira of Onderon

Star News was graciously granted an interview with Queen Valara Drayen-Kira of Onderon and learned much about it's vibrant past, present and future.

When asked about the recent changes Onderon had gone through, it's current state and direction the Queen had this to say:

Queen Valara Drayen-Kira:  "We have gone through quite a few changes. The last GNN reported on us is that we had evacuated our planet due to the Karatos Plague.  That plague ended up killing over half the population of the planet.  The remaining unaffected people remained safely in my fleet until the Mandalorians delivered a cure to the Plague.  Many good people died sadly.  The ones who were infected who remained on the planet caused quite a bit of chaos.  They all but destroyed the city and looted it completely.  When we returned we found we had to rebuild it entirely, AGAIN, since the first time we had to was because it was destroyed by the Sith.  However, with the help of our allies, we rebuilt it over the period of several years.  While I stayed with the fleet I also bore twin girls, which I believe have yet to be introduced to the world Passion Kira and her sister, Serenity Kira, who is away training with the Jedi on New Alderaan.  Passion will be heir to the throne when she is ready. It seems Serenity has been blessed with the gift of Force Sensitivity. Use of the force does run in our family, but it skips generations frequently.  Queen Talia for example, and her mother Galia, were not Force Sensitive, but Queen Amanoa before them, was. Force Sensitivity in our bloodline is more rare these days.  Ever since our bloodline merged with that of the Beast Rider, Oron Kira, who were not force sensitive, it is a rare occurrence. Onderon right now is in a state of prosperity though we have been threatened extensively by the Imperial Inquisition lately. GAR have come to live with us recently though, and they have done a fine job of protecting us from such threats."

When asked about the plague she responded:

Queen Valara Drayen-Kira: "The Mandalorians were inadvertently responsible for bringing the plague to us in the first place.  The Karatos Plague is a plague that originated on Concord Dawn you see.  It was carried over here by our Mandalorian allies.  They had no idea of it, because most of them are vaccinated to such things at birth.  But they can still be a carrier. So the Mandalore, being my closest ally for some time now, felt it was his duty to aid my people in a problem they started in the first place. They provided me with both evacuation aid and later the cure. The cure was delayed in getting to my world because they were at war, but the Mandalore did make good on his promise to help us."

With the recent Sith Inquisition attacks on Onderon, I asked the Queen to address this issue a bit more in depth about the security of Onderon and also to speak about the Vindicate Order of gray Jedi that was reported here in Star News as defenders of the throne.

Queen Valara Drayen-Kira: "I did grant the temple to the Vindicate Order for their use out in the jungle.  We had a Jedi Order once within the walls of Iziz, but the Onderon people now greatly mistrust Jedi because of what they have done in the past, so though I felt the need to give them a home when they asked, I did not think the people would accept them being so near.  They have been at odds with the Inquisition as well yes.  GAR are not here just to fight them.  From what I was told, GAR were forced from their home on Bakura and came to me seeking a new place to live, and I provided them a base so they would have a place to call home. The Inquisition had come shortly before.  They demanded I submit to them, and I threw them out of my court.  They told me I would regret my decision and attacked soon after GAR was established here, though they successfully defended Onderon from their tyranny. GAR are not just here to fight them though.  They have a home here with us as long as they want it.  I know what it is like to be forced to leave one's home, and I would not wish that on anyone. The Mandalorians have been aiding us in our defense against the Inquisition also. The Sith shall not triumph here. They have not in the past, they will not in the future."

 Mando's on Onderon

Recently Star News had a chance to talk with Silas Ge'kyrayc  Munit'kad, otherwise known as Char about the Mandalorian presence on Onderon and the decline of the Mando population in the galaxy. Here is what he had to say:

'Char': "We've been contracted by the queen to provide defense for the city and the outlying areas, and we intend to do that job with the utmost professionalism and efficiency. Think of us as a combination police force and military, but better armed and armored. The real goal for Onderon, besides keeping food on the clan's table, is public relations. We're trying to dispel the black eye some of the more brash pseudo-mandalorians have put on our reputation, and show the galaxy that there's no greater friend nor worse enemy to have than a Mandalorian."

"We've worked extensively with the Grand Army, among other factions, in order to make sure Onderon is safe from attack. We've actually set up materials trade with GAR in order to better equip their troopers, and in return a number of my Mandalorians have undergone Clone basic training."

"Recently the Mandalorians have seen a bit of a decline in recruiting and adoption, and first and foremost our goals are to attempt to restrengthen our numbers and continue to expand our borders. Currently there's discussion about a possible exploration effort for some of the clans, an attempt to find some new planets with more resources, though I don't plan on being involved in that effort. In regards to Keldabe, in the near future we're planning a Market Day, where outsiders and Mandalorians alike will get together and buy, sell, and trade goods."

 Py-Sinaas and Val-Sena seek Sith Unification

Star News recently traveled to an undisclosed location to talk to a group of Sith about their unique viewpoints on Sith unity, Jedi and the recent Byss peace treaty.

Darth Py-Sinaas: "in the past they called me Trinity Umino well that no longer works, I use my Sith name Py-Sinaas, you may call me Darth Py-Sinaas and my daughter Darth Val-Sena here no longer uses her birth name, moving on...our group is small we have a handfull of Sith and a couple of Imperials as well, not to mention the younger ones. Now as I understand it the Sith Empire has made a peace with the Jedi...That is fine but it will be a shaky peace and the slightest ripple in the water could send it back into chaos, I will not hesitate to defend my beliefs if need be."

Darth Val-Sena: "We can't reveal much of course about what our intentions are, if there is any in the first place. We are just a small group standing for our beliefs, like the Jedi but stronger. We may not be the average Sith like those in larger groups, however we work well together and respect one another as long as everyone knows their place in the group."

Darth Py-Sinaas: "There currently is not a name here...we believe one Sith is the same as any other no matter where they hail from we are all one and we all wish to see much of the same things, small variances will occur from place to place but for the most part its the same. Just like I consider a Jedi from Dantooine the same as one from Bakura or Yavin IV or any other order. I see no organizations nor groups as you say...I see Jedi and Sith, I see Imperials troops and Republic troops."   "I want to see everyone grow...because what is good is when you stand on a battlefield and see not only your Sith that you work with daily but ALL Sith from all clans and orders, united as one."

 Hutt Cartel continues to prosper

Once more in the packed hotel on Mos Eisley the Hutt Cartel held business night, and as always the chaotic scene unfolded before citizens from all over the galaxy. This time the Hutts in attendance where Issulla Odominic, Jengaz Besadii, Rolga Bareesh and a new Hutt on the scene that has been quiet active, Tompunka Bareesh. Meeka D'Lux hosted and translated with the aid of Stubz, Tompunka's Majordomo.

The Night got started when Meeka got into a confrontation with Captain Konami of the Imperial Guard about security issues, while the Hutts seemed to not really care as long as they didn't have to pay, Meeka was reminded of how the Hutts lost their thrones on Nar Shaddaa due to a security take over that ended the Hutts hold on the Smugglers moon. Once the issue was resolved the business begain.

Issulla started the real public business forum by stating that the Drunken Gundark cantina was being moved from Nar Kreeta to Ord Mantel since Odominic now had a large stake in Ord and was moving there main base of operations there.

Then the first speaker was called up, Posan of the Gladiators of the Lost Age. He came before the Hutts seeking servents to both fight in the weekly competition and also to dance and provide entertainment at the popular event. Issulla said that she would talk to him in private about obtaining the merchandise he sought, perhaps at a later date on Ord Mantel when it was ready for business. Issulla tossed him a data chip, and then suddenly without warning stated she had business to attend elsewhere and mysteriously left the crowded Cartel Night for parts unknown.

Business however continued with the three remaining Hutts and the next speaker was called up. A man dressed in black named Phoenix stepped up to speak to the Hutts about what he described as top quality spice. He offered samples which were taken by Jengaz to examine at a later date. Jengaz also made a deal for a much smaller quanity then Phoenix originally came to offer with the promise of it it turned out to be a product he was interested in more credits would follow.

Then Posan was called up again by Rolga Bareesh. Rolga asked about Posan's training of one of Bareesh's fighters, Syn. Rolga then went on to explain that Bareesh doesn't have the facilities to train fighters and would like to turn that over to Posan, who agreed. Then Rolga asked for a confirmation of arena combats slated for the next day after the LME Swoop Races and when Posan said there would be both Rolga and Tompunka said they would attend if they could and wished Posan the best with his training and Gladiators of the Lost Age endeavors.

The last speaker of the night was a Jedi named Fay. She had acquired permafrost crystals from Hoth as per an agreement made prior to Cartel Night with Tompunka the Hutt. There was a little bickering over the trade arrangements, but in the end Fay found out you cannot bicker with Hutts and reached a fair agreement before she reboxed the crystals and Stubz carried them out for safe keeping.

With the business concluded the crowd of onlookers and Hutts started to leave what turned out to be a relative peaceful and productive business night.

 Confirmed. the New Sith Empire falls

Last week Star News talked to the GRAE commander Arbitras Rexsus II. We decide to do a follow up  with the New Sith Empire which  took us to the smuggler's moon Nar Shaddaa. There we talked to a droid of the only surviving NSE Member.

Sith Droid IPH12: "My master is practically the soul survivor of the faction.  My Master's group now souly focuses on bringing him back to higher health and will not seek war with GRAE yet for safer security to the High Lord's life and future for Sith. Not many people or Sith see them as a threat but they highly are ...they left a crator on  Umbara and  Kuat killing many Sith pupils and citizens. After that war many tried to make their own NSE group and failed but NSE mainly focused on the three orders that worshiped the good efforts of Emperor Rellik, one was the lost tribe of the Sith, another was  the Shadow Sith Clan then the last was ODL  and a relative of ROTH's former leader now leader and still alive but out of our veiw..  although ROTH wasn't active at that war, it was Cyprus Talon that came to see Rellik became too lusting for power and left on..slight concerning terms.  Few though not much any more still blame the fact he left after the emperor died but my Master now sees him as, preverbal releasing a dog from its former Master. The NSE will be nothing but a memory now. The NSE was nothing more after GRAE put end to it so if another order decide to make an Empire opposite to the people Byss's they will not survive as long NSE did, one's master is lucky to be considered it's last powerful member."

Then went on to comment about the Byss peace treaty with the Jedi: "As for what Byss and the Sith are doing now making peace or what they call peace concerns my Master ,he sees it will end up with one or the other  dead.. although finds the efforts admirable it disgusts him because he hates the Jedi and will remain an enemy of theirs for some time, this includes the Republic and GAR."

 GRAE investigate the death of one of their own

Star News traveled to Yavin IV at the behest of Jessant Cassius of the GRAE who said he was trying to solve a mystery and now wanted to go public with it.

Jessant Cassius: "Vyres Yodan was killed here long time back we still very much investigating his death along with what caused it and what happened during our war when he was killed. We think either Vyres was caught between a battle between the Emperor Rellik's son Lord Xephros and the two Emperor's son and yodan fought each other till both of them died because of the battle or Vyres yodan killed the son then was assassinated but we do know his son is dead and was killed by Vyres"

 Swoop Races explode on LME!

This week in racing Nora Saria two time winner of the Galactic Swoop Cup, return to the art of swoop racing.. where she faced off against six other racers in the most action packed thrill ride yet. As the races took off and rounded the first corner then ran into something a little more testing then just the competition... mines were laid out in the street by an unknown party causing the risk of life and limb.

This weeks winners were Nora Saria, in first followed by Valadhiell, Ɲƌɨ-Ǭ, POΩAN and fan favorite and Judland Swoop track owner Icy in that order.

 Sabers clash for fame and cash

Once more a large crowd gathered under the binary suns of Tatooine to witness the vicious saber duels of the Galiators of the Lost Age competition. The crowd cheered, jeered and placed bets on their favorites. Although the battles were fierce, no limbs were lost and there were very few wounded. The first battle saw Mos Esiely's own Captain Kanomi against the Exiles favorite son, Mirongrass, who was barely defeated by the Captain of the Imperial Knights. Kanomi then went on to fight a dark Jedi named Syn, only to see herself come out once more as victor making her undefeated and the winner of this weeks competition. Who will stand in the arena next week to face off against the sabers of Kanomi?

 Star News follows up on A Time of Change?

Talking to Darth Atrox in his Sanctum on Byss, I asked If there was anything he could tell us about his plans for peace and will there ever be peace between the Sith and the Jedi?   

Darth Atrox:  "Welcome to a Sanctum that has been empty for some time now. As to your question, I shall say that the answer you seek is in the hands of the Jedi. The offer has been made. This peace, however, is not only extended to the Jedi. No, this is intended for every single inhabitant of the galaxy. The Mandalorians, Smugglers....our reach is infinite."

I went on to ask him are there steps that you are taken to reasure the Jedi that you really want peace as well as the Mandalorians, the Smugglers, and the rest of the galaxy?" I know from their point view this all could be a trap. 

Darth Atrox:   "I find that Admiral Ackbar, though he has been dead for some time now, continues to affirm the suspicions of those who would prefer paranoia to truth. There shall always be conspiracy theorists, those who distrust all that is uttered by a people that they understand very little. We have pulled several of our fleets closer within our borders in an attempt to ease the nerves of those who continue to feel....nervous. Additionally, peace envoys have been dispatched to every corner of the galaxy to gather those who would prefer prosperity to loss."

I then asked him will there be more talks to see the progress of what steps toward peace have been made by both sides and will other groups as you said that you wish to have peace with be granted access to these meeting as well?

Darth Atrox:  "The Sith Empire excludes no one from these peace talks. And indeed, there shall be more peace talks. It is only natural after so many generations of war that the galaxy, as a whole, evolves toward total and complete peace. Though I am patient, I feel that the galaxy needed...a helping hand and so through initiating these talks, I have accomplished what I intended to....for now."

so for my final question I went on to talk about what was said in the meeting with the Jedi.  I said, "In the meeting you had with the Jedi there was talks that Sith will continue to use the Dark arts of the Force as well as the Sith Codes. Do you feel that this would hinder your goal towards peace?"

Darth Atrox: "On the contrary, through the use of the Dark Side, a side of the Force in which much disinformation is propagated, we will succeed even more in our endeavor for peace. Those who reject this fact are simply uninformed as to the true nature of that which they have forbidden themselves and their followers from learning of."

 Sith Inquisitor's talk about Time of Change

Star News traveled to Mustafar to talk to the Sith and get some feed back as to their feelings about the proposed peace talks between Byss and the Jedi organizations.

Almas Khonsu: "I feel that the Sith and the Empire should never negotiate with such inferiors. As a Sith one hunts them down and eliminates them. Just remember 'Peace is a Lie', it won't last and the Empire will crush all that stands against them"

Lady Clandestine  Head Inquisitor:  "I am all in favor of the talks between ourselves and those on Byss. I believe that the time has come that we Sith stand united as a whole instead of fighting amongst ourselves. It is time that we show strength in numbers. And the numbers lay within the groups joining."

Almas Khonsu: "For now, an end to the infighting amongst the Sith should be a main goal. Only then can we turn our attention to the greater enemies, the Republic. The weak will perish."

Almas Khonsu "I do not profess to speak for the Order, but I do know that this so called 'peace' with the Jedi will not last."

Lady Clandestine "If those on Byss wish to continue with their talks then so be it. We will not stand in their way. The Serpentine Order has agendas of their own and we have no intention on interfering in such things. As to the Jedi believing their talks are a trap. I would expect nothing less from those that fail to see that the Sith only want what is best for the galaxy and the community as a whole."

 TNOS comment on a Time of Change

Star News next traveled to Oricon to speak to the well known master of all he sees.. the one and only Lord Oblivion and his wife Lady Zav of The New Order of SIth and see what they thought of the peace offering made by Byss to the various Jedi orders.

Lord Oblivion: "The Jedi use people as they have used OJO when OJO was on Onderon long ago. Once the Jedi finish their use of others they back stab them.  As you see no Jedi will come here to talk with us or face us. The New Order of the Sith Empire does not support in what Byss does as they seem to tread the waters on their own."

Lady Zyrah:  "Why would Sith being who they are ever want peace with Jedi? I have never heard the Sith of Byss talk this way before are you sure this is not a set-up especially now at this timing? Do you really think this will actually happen given the past history of all of this? We will watch this new moves taking place. I personally have no comment as I observe what they do now as I see That Sith Empire is showing weakness but i feel there is much more to this that was not said that day of this meeting"

Lord Oblivion: "If byss truly does this then they will no longer be respected by the Sith Empire, The Dark Council will go over what is Byss's fate If Byss sides with the Jedi then Byss can have graves along the Jedi in their failure. As for the Jedi they sealed their fate long ago when they betrayed us"

 Imperial Knights and Vindicate Order form alliance

Captain of the Imperial Knights Kanomi and Levineff Orithine Praxis, High Father of the Vindicate Order recently met on Onderon to form what many would see as a natural alliance. The Imperial Knights are know for their studies in both sides of the force, light and dark while the Vindicate Order are what most people classify as Gray Jedi. It was a brief meeting with both sides explaining about their respective orders and it came to a mutual agreement where an alliance was formed between the two parties. Details of the alliance such as what it actually means for the parties were not disclosed to the media at this time.

 GRAE defeats NSE, loses Endor base

In a ship, Hovering over Yavin IV,  Star News sat down with GRAE Head Commander Arbitras Rexsus II. 

He said he had some important news to tell us: " If you weren't aware GRAE and the New Sith Empire was at war with one another. it took a longtime to end this war, until finally I personally battled the NSE Emperor Rellik, killing him."

Our follow up question to this news was when did this war start and who is this New Sith Empire? 

Rexsus went to tell me that  "Kuat, where we first caused so much destruction on account of they captured me and my son, if it wasn't for our former head command rescuing us we would have died on Kuat during the explosion.  Then NSE moved to Umbara still battling with us"  Rexus then growled after saying this and I can tell he was hurt by it.  He continue on to say "after the death of my grandfather and our former head command we set out towards Umbara and fought The Emperor's minions, destroyed most of the area they were stationed, then I challenged the Emperor myself, the fight has left me mortally wounded to this day"

I  asked  Arbitras Rexsus II,  Now that the fight is over  and the Emperor is dead. What is the next  for you and the people of Endor?

Rexsus:  "After the war I came to decide to shut down the entrance to our Cortosis mine cave station for safety and move our camp temporarily here to Yavin IV, thankfully the Jedi are very hospitable here and let us stay, We've gone through a lot during the war and want to start recruiting people again after many deaths. I feel our time on Endor and visits will be limited because of the threats and damages"

Then  I asked him,  now that you swung a critical blow to the New Sith Empire and their leader is gone, do you see them as threat to your people in the future.

"That faction will no longer be a bother to us for a long time, but the battle will haunt me for sometime." He added, "Although we may end up having more minor threats in the future for what I have done and the fact I've killed an Emperor remains"

I ended our talks by asking him how long they plan on being on Yavin IV?"This all depends on if we can restation Endor or find a new home but most likely for a long period." He replied.

As of yet Star New has no confirmation of the death of the NSE Emperor or fate of the New Sith Empire.

 Hutt Cartel Chaos!

Once more Hutt Cartel Business Night packed the hotel on Mos Eisley, both with guests as well as new additions to the Cartel itself as old affiliates and associates joined the regular Cartel cast of Issulla Odominic and Jengaz Besadii on stage. Notably Rolga Bareesh of Clan Bareesh who also brought Meeka D'Lux, the Bareesh underboss and none other then the well known and much beloved Shaka the Huttling and her famous Majordomo Morrigan of Dlugacz Clan. Once more in the audience was Belutric Nasirii who made no moves to join the others on

stage content with his snacks and watching from the packed floor. This time Arcadia was absent from the stage completely and the local authority, the Imperial Knights and the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps seemed to be running security for the event in a more open way.

After a brief introduction of the different Hutt Cartels and what they specialize in by Meeka, Shaka spoke up to the crowd offering a few words about his checkered past with Belutric Nasirii of Clan Nasirii: "As many of you know, Belutric and I have had our differences over the past months. But months are nothing to a Hutt. I wish to move on and let the past rest. Go on with business as we always did should an opportunity arise. I'm not one to hold a grudge, and maybe was wrong, When I'm older wiser and fatter I will know. Not my most eloquent statement. But business is the end we all desire." Belutric seemed unmoved by the speech and Meeka called up the first official speaker of the night, Captain Kanomi of the Imperial Knights.

Captain Kanomi stated that a system failure had disrupted production of security droids and she came before the Hutts to see if they could some how help her meet the quota under a looming deadline. Issulla Odominic stated that she would be happy to help and had Meeka set up an appointment with her to help her secure the droids by the deadline. Kanomi agreed and Meeka passed over the information on where to meet with a time to be decided.

Next up was Treb Temmas of EDSG SuprA Speeders located in downtown Mos Eisley. He came before the Hutts to offer them deals on speeders. He also stated that he saw some rocks out in the desert that looked like a little Hutt princess. The Speeders drew more response from the Hutts then the rocks, and only Meeka and Jengaz seemed interested in the rocks. Shaka asked what tonnage the speeders could pull, most likely thinking of a Hutt sled or trailer, which got looks from her Majordomo Morrigan. The other Hutts seemed to be loosing intrest so Mr Temmas excused himself and went back into the crowd.

Meeka.. who had been taking a little nap and forgot to translate, woke up as Treb made his way back into the crowd. She then asked Belutric Nasirii if he would like to say a few words to the Hutt Cartel or the mass audience that had gathered that night to see them.

Belutric responded that he would and headed up to the speaker area, but rather then facing the Cartel he turned his back on them and addressed the audience: "Do tikti gari zay yana ayo, pidunki uku tun mo welma tanga marka, salun aleypa kabuk, dogu choda kancha wanku gethen kolpi uruno koshka pi-, moy geso yacha da, wali boj ka, kava mila hanga niy chigu, won machu tuda yura, antari." he stated to the crowd.. which translates to: "This Cartel is a sham. it is an effort by younger Hutts to take business from the Hutt Clan Council . I disapprove of this meeting and will not sit with these young Hutts on the dias as a protest to all the games they play with your business."  he continued: "citizens of Tatooine realize you are being taken for a ride by these Hutts . There is more profit for you if you ignore them and go about your business as you used to. I am a local of Tatooine and my outpost is open for business with you all. that is all my words."

This speech by Belutric the Hutt seemed to outrage the Hutt Cartel, Jengaz Besadii replied: "tana chu chuba uran be magok la chuba wampo diki chuba?" meaning "So finally you decided to take of you mask didn't you?" while Shaka added: "boga, wan huha ha kilin diki hok. diki kah yama sa uska. palko" which translates to: "Belutric, offer them business of your own. Lack of business is stagnation." Rolga aslo added his thoughts with: "ji goora nobata goora bayjee gee kox hutta, magok ji putta chobo ee'jaga kilin dwana masa sa boga kon so ne jimuga bo nai ganku wassa" or "It is sad how the mighty have fallen, I have no formal business with this Hutt, so I wish him better days as it is clear he has not seen one in some time" Jengaz then went on to say "I'm sure no one will agree with any single word Belutric said, he can start counting his days" But it was the words of Issulla that were heard loudest: "Odominic Now Offers a Bounty of Five Hundred Thousand Credits for one Carbinite Belutric for bad business" ... offering a 500,000 dollar reward as an open bounty on Belutric Nasirii for the first person to bring him before the Cartel in carbonite. Belutric seemed unphased and returned to the crowded floor and continued to eat his snacks.

After things seem to settle down a little.. the next speaker to come up was Kaelinn X of Arcadia. In the tense atmosphere she kept her announcement short, saying that her group Arcadia is opening a cantina in downtown Mos Esiely named the Unlucky, and offered that the Hutts get to drink free. The Cartel, still a bit rattled, seemed to like the idea, and Shaka called Kaelinn over and passed her a secret message on a data pad that Kaelinn seemed happy with, and then she returned to the crowd.

It wasn't long after that that the gun fire broke out, and soon smoke bombs filled the hotel. The Imperial Knights and the Stormtroopers all scrambled searching out the cause of the disruption while the crowd started to panic and dispurse. The Hutts mostly remained on their thrones. The gun fire seemed to be coming from the upper area of the hotel and blaster fire was seen to light up the smokey room. Belutric stayed calm in the crowd as the chaos erupted. The Hotel was put on lockdown by the ISC almost immediately, trapping the few guests who didn't escape in the building. Later it was reviled to be a bounty hunter going for the bounty placed on Belutric, but even with the lockdown and the ISC on duty, the hunter and Belutric managed to escape as far as Star News can tell, and as the smoke cleared the lockdown was called off and another Cartel Night came to an end.

Hutt Cartel Night is a weekly event on LME at 6pm slt.

 A new Bounty Hunter Guild?

A group of bounty hunters has moved into the downtown area of Mos Eisley calling themselves the Bounty Brokers Association. It is not know if they are associated with the infamous Bounty Hunters Guild, in fact, little is known about this group but it is rumored they have a strong street presence and have been seen chatting openly with the Hutts during Hutt Cartel night where they passed a disk of undisclosed information over to the Cartel. At this time little is known about the group and when they were contacted by Star News had little to actually say about their organization. Star News will be sure to get more details on the BBA as they become available.

 Arena Fights come to LME

The arena in downtown Mos Eisley was all lit up in blue and red lights to signify that all factions, both Jedi and Sith are welcome to participate in the first ever public Galiators of the Lost Age competition. Many people assembled under the binary suns to watch as contestants battled for cash prizes, bragging rights and maybe just a chance to wild out and draw first blood. While the event is new, it still drew a sizable crowd and it's creator Posan has stated that next week it will be more streamlined and even more entertaining for spectators and onlookers as well. This weeks tournaments saw the undeafeated swoop racer from the last couple weeks take first place in a totally different sport, the Mandolarian known as Mirongrass, followed closely by LME's favorite daughter, Captain of the Imperial Stormtrooper Corps very own Kanomi, proving that she has it all, beauty, brains and a serious ability to throw down.. followed by none other then Ucchap'keza who put up a good solid fight. Good work to all the fighters.

Star News Issue 2.16 Volume 14 

A Time of Change? 

I got a radio com from unknown origin looking for reporters from Star News.  I took the chance and answers the call and it was good I did.

The person calling himself the Prophet said he had news of alliance but it was sensitive information that he could not say over our communications device. So he ask me to meet with him in the Dromund Kaas wilderness. Once I arrive he told me about something that has

never happen before in history since the split between those who were the ancestors of the Jedi and the Sith.  Peace talks between the Sith and  Jedi. A secret meeting was being held and talks were being made even as we two met.  

He said, "the Dark and the Light have drawn toward one another and when they meet there shall not be war, but there shall finally be....peace. There is an ancient Sith order that sits atop a river of lava. There is an ancient Jedi Order that sits atop green prairies and rivers. Though these two entities have exchanged nothing in the past years, they are suddenly drawn together in a most secret location to speak to one another. And what do they speak of? They speak of peace and an end to violence, an end to a war that has ravaged this galaxy beyond comparison."  

Why the secrect location I asked and he said, "Because there are those who would see this peace broken, those who stand to lose much from an alliance between the forces of Dark and Light. Understandably, the day and location of this meeting cannot be divulged for security concerns. But the implications of this meeting, should the two join hand in hand, are far reaching indeed. The Jedi and the Sith, joined together in harmony, a galaxy in which poverty is no more. Disease, famine, war....all things of the past. We enter a new era soon and those who do not conform to galactic peace shall find themselves greatly outnumbered and unable to any longer indulge themselves in the blood lust of war."

The  next day,  I traveled to Yavin IV to talk to Master Iria to confirm what was told to me by the Prophet.   Master Iria confirmed it. she  said, " The Sith of Byss have stated an interest in establishing peaceful relations with the various Jedi Enclaves, that is true. However, nothing has been committed to, and the talks have not yet taken place. So far, every Jedi I have spoken to about it are very skeptical and do not trust the Sith. They are certain, and history shows probably rightly so, that it is just some kind of ruse or play to throw us off guard or keep us busy while they are engaged in some other conflict." 

I followed that  by telling her that the Prophet was secretive about the location of the meeting. he said there are people out there who don't want these peace talks to happen. Do the Jedi also agreed with this assumption?"  Her  respond was, "An initial meeting has been set up to find out just exactly what the Sith want and why they are seeking peace now. I cannot talk about the location or time the meeting is to take place, it would greatly compromise the obviously tight security.   But yes... there are those on both sides who would work to make sure such a thing, if genuine, would never happen." 

So  I  asked " if the Sith are on the up and up, this time around, this would be good thing and if the Jedi and the Sith are no longer fighting, Then what would be the next goal for the Jedi?"  She  said, " If by some galactic miracle, the Sith were no longer the bad guys of the galaxy, then the Jedi would continue to do what we do now... namely train Force sensitive beings how to use the Force, become a Jedi, and assist others in need. Just because one great evil might potentially cease to be a threat, does not mean all evil in the universe has been vanquished. There would still be a purpose and function for the Jedi."   That had me thinking and so I said,  "All I heard was one group of Sith wanting peace with all the Jedi. though there are as many Sith groups as there are Jedi groups. Does Byss speaks for them all?"  Master Iria said, "Right now, Byss only speaks for Byss. And it's not even certain if all the Sith on Byss are even in agreement. I would tend to think not based on discussions I've had so far. They wanted this diplomatic meeting to take place on Byss itself, but it could not because our safety they said could not be guaranteed at this time." 

A Time of Change? Part 2 

Jedi / Sith split has been going on for close to 10000 years. This week at an undisclosed location top represenitives from both factions actually sat down at a round table acrost from each other to has out a peace treaty that could have profound and hopefully lasting consequences on the Galaxy we all know and call home. As understandable, everyone brought doubts to the table, and mistrusts, but as the meeting went on for what seemed like endless and tense hours, perhaps something positive was acomplished.

Represenitives from Yavin IV, Tython, Onderon and Byss all sat around the table. At first the mood was of distrust as Byss presented their proposal for peace: "Assembled guests, I am Darth Atrox of the Sith Empire. In the interests of brevity, I shall not bore you with pretenses or formalities. Instead, we shall discuss what it is that we all came here to discuss and that is....peace. The Sith Empire wishes to be at peace with each and every order and organization assembled here today. This war that has turned into a stalemate has drained both of our resources and people for long enough."

Master Iria of Yavin IV voiced what perhaps what all the other Jedi at the table were thinking after Atrox's opening statement; "It's a good sentiment. But what assurances do we have that this is not some clever misdirection? I think we need to know how you plan to go about making peace." Most at the table took notes or holorecordings of this presumed historic meeting, looks of skeptism on most of the Jedi's faces.

Darth Atrox then continued with is proposal "The plan for making peace is a simple one really. We propose an immediate seizure to all military operations on both sides. Furthermore, we propose that commercial traffic be allowed to travel freely between all systems and unobstructed. Finally, we propose that any citizen or associate of the assembled parties here today be allowed to freely and securely travel between our systems. As to how we will accomplish this, well, we will accomplish this by all coming to an agreement that this relationship is mutually beneficial and then following through, starting with the immediate seizure of military operations." and added, "As a gesture of good faith, I have ordered the withdraw of the 7th Imperial fleet from the tumultuous border between Sith space and several disputed systems."

The room suddenly burst out in tones of doubt, as several of the Jedi talked out loud amongst themselves, showing their doubt at the Dark Lords proposal... but as the chaos subsided Xan Qenadius spoke up "Strange timing then, for a cessation. considering one of your Hands not to long ago made an open threat to the galaxy on GNN.....I would like to understand what has changed in such a short space of time."

Master Iria: "Darth Infestus recently made grand threats against the republic and all jedi just a short time ago. Chaos and destruction are the hallmarks of the sith... so you can understand our skepticism on this matter. Further, you yourself have said not all Sith support this endeavor... so what about them?"

Darth Atrox: "The purpose of this meeting is for each party here to take this information back to his or her respective planetary governments and for a decision then to be finally made. As to the question of trust, the Empire has gone to great lengths to ensure that

this meeting is as transparent and as inclusive as possible. Were we to have malevolent intentions, it would perhaps have been more

strategic for us to go about this meeting in a different manner." he also stated "Master Iria, our Empire is not as large as it once was. We do not currently occupy any worlds in which the order that we provide is unwelcome."

It was an interesting meeting so far to say the least, here we have two factions who most of the Galaxy believes would never find peace, sitting at a table calmly.. well.. relativly calm at least, discussing terms of peace, truely a historic moment.

In response to Master Iria's comments about the other Sith in the Galaxy Darth Atrox had this to say in response: " yes and that is true and you don't speak for every sith group that is out their."

Other Jedi from around the table also had concerns and comments about Byss's proposal of peace.

Sha'ira Luroon: "Such an agreement can only be made by planetary officials. We as Jedi do not control the laws made on each world and to facilitate this will require additional meetings with those planetary officials. Of course this meeting today can get the ball rolling although how successful it will be I am uncertain."

Sable:  "Byss's operations have been very quiet really.. if any at all.. they held themselves aloof as the other.. Sith Empires gave us trouble. I believe they took no part in that... we can not hold them to blame for that mess. However I must ask. an occupation is a military operation.  What are your plans for say.. Ossus."

Levineff Praxis: "It sounds like an agreeable proposal...but the only issue here is the one of trust...how can we truly trust you to keep your side of this proposal...the past may be the past...but we have been doing this whole squabble for thousands of years"Master Atlantis: "...and that is true and you don't speak for every sith group that is out there."

Darth Atrox fielded most of these questions.. perhaps all that he could knowing that what he was proposing would take a lot of work on both sides, "Those Sith who are enemies of peace shall be enemies of every party at this table. They will not stand long against such a force. As to the question of Darth Infestus, it is no secret that there are those in high places who have publicly disagreed with this peace effort. What should be referenced, however, is that this movement within the Sith Empire for peace has gained enough momentum to the point where we are no longer a minority. We have the backing of most of the Imperial Council and the civilians. It is, therefore, time to show our peaceful intentions to the galaxy." he then went on to talk about the Emperor of Byss "The Emperor has been in seclusion for some time now. When he is prepared, he will speak on this. To disturb his Majesty would be a grave offense and I cannot do so without risking my life and the life of this peaceful cause. Let us agree here today that all combat shall cease on both sides. Is there anyone here who believes that even this simple request is not possible?"

10,000 years is a long time of hostilities to be just changed in a day, and it is clear that there would have to be a lot of work done before even the smallest step towards peace could be made. Iria summed it up: "I think we can say if your forces are not attacking, then ours will not either. It is not the jedi way to attack without cause. But tell me, some of the core sith beliefs surround a craving for power and control, how do you plan to over come thousands of years of such imbedded beliefs?" While Onderon took a different approach: "Indeed...I can not promise anything on Behalf of Onderon itself...but I will assure that my Kngihts will not place harm on your own...that is all I can give for now" Levineff Praxis said.

Master Iria I think summed up the skeptism the Jedi were feeling: "The ploy of peace, as a tool to destableize and put the jedi off foot has been used in the past. So you can understand why we question your motives. We proceed cautiously, as currently there is a trust issue. The only solution to this is time.... time for things to unfold, time in which we see if you keep your word, time for the other shoe to fall, if it ever does."

The meeting then wandered into a discussion about the Force, something everyone in the room had in common, although in different ways, and at the end of the meeting an unseasy truce was agreed upon, with the various Jedi Clans watching the Byss Sith, the Dark Lords of the Sith to see if indeed their peace prospects are true or just another ploy. Only time will tell, but here is to hoping for a lasting peace in the Galaxy and end to the war that has claimed too many lives already leaving planets destroyed in it wake. Sometime words are more powerful then swords. Sometimes. 

Hutt Cartel continues to rise 

Once more Hutt Cartel Business got underway in it's weekly meeting at the hotel on LME. The floor was packed with citizens, business dealers, and drunks from every corner of the Galaxy and the bar did record sales. Present to represent the Hutt Cartel of Nar Kreeta were Cartel founders Issulla Odominic of Clan Odominic and Jengaz Besaddii of Clan Besadii.

After the crowd settled down the business got underway with it's first speaker, Sienna of the Bounty Brokers Association. She explained that they were a brokerage firm and handed over a data pad containing unknown information to the Hutts. She then thnked the Cartel for allowing her firm to hunt and collect bounties during Cartel Night, an agreement that Issulla had mentioned last week during business night. The two parties seemed in agreement with plans to discus the deatils even further in the private back at the Cartel's base. Issulla in particular was pleased saying: "ap-xmasi bongo achuta crispo doma toma d'emperiolo bolla chimpa d'emperiolo dobra dopa-meeky" which translates to "Sounds like this will make things more streamlined, I am pleased"

About this time Belutric the Hutt of Nasirii was spoted in the crowd and offered a place to sit with the Cartel by Issulla but instead chose to stay with the onlookers apparently happily eating and throwing out the occasional comment in Huttese.

Next up was Minx Bade, who came to tell the Hutts about the Street Swoop Races set for the following day around the hotel. Jengaz was most excited to hear of the prospects and chances to gamble, but then Issulla spotted Morrigan, the Dlugacz Majordomo who also represents Tiro the Hutt in the crowd and decided to call her up to find out any information she could about Shaka the missing Huttling. Ms Bade nodded to the Hutts as Morrigan made her way up. Issulla then Asked Morrigan about her buisness, to which Morrigan responded "Tiro enjoys good business, I'm sure as a fellow hutt you can relate to that. However, anything other interests he might have can be divulged at a later date." Looking a bit confused, but perhaps she was just feigning confusion.. Issulla responded "chowbasa doopee champio chuba cheeska cheekta foo da wanga coo sa bootana chuba confeeba chowbasa che choba" or "so why have you been working with Tiro i thought you was working for shaka" Morrigan then stated that if a Hutt asked you to do anything it was probably best you did, and Issulla then asked her to come dance up on stage at a pole, which Morrigan took much offense too saying "You say that and I'll wear your tongue like a coat..."

Issulla simply responded: "alay doopee meendeeya da wanga bolla beesga sa da soocha foo d'emperiolo teesaw chess ko sa chuba da chess ko chinka bolla do an", "I dont think so, this room is filled with hunters, it is you that should worry about your tounge" But while the tensions mounted between Issulla and Morrigan, perhaps fueled by the words of the nights host, Jengaz grew slightly bored with it all just wanting the next speaker to come up so Morrigan was dismissed and free to go back into the crowd. How these events and tensions will play out at this point is anyone's guess.

And with that Cartel Business Night came to a close for another week, only to once more take over the Hotel next Saturday at 6pm slt. 

ISC talks GAR and the state of the Galaxy 

After last weeks articles on GAR, the Grand Army Republic, Star News decided to venture down to Mos Eisley to talk with the other armored citizens of the Galaxy, the Imperial Stromtrooper Command or ISC for short to see what the differences between the two factons actually was and find out just what it is the ISC does. Star News met with several of the troops, including Corporal Kanomi who quickly filled us in on the day to day operations "Mostly we patrol the area, uphold the imperial codes set down for this planet and the local government, making sure the safe zones like the hotel and the cantina are respected by all visitor, insure the safety of the citizens, arrest criminals, work with the bounty hunters, and do foot patrols"

We then asked about the ISC's feelings about the other armored denziens of the Galaxy, GAR, and this is what Corporal Kanomi had to say "G.A.R is not the same as the ISC as they are mostly clone troopers and drones, working on another world to insure that that planet is able to repopulate after the plague" then went on to add "ISC is stationed here to insure the safty of the citizens of the Tatoonie, so in a way our goals are the same in those respects." and finished the discussion on the topic with "I hope my statement answers those questions as they are the offical statements"

Star News then asked them to comment a little about the recruitment process since they recruit rather then clone new troops and got an interesting almost personal response. Corporal Kanomi: "Back in my time you had a prospect period to make sure you were activly commited to the ISC and LME" and continued "I was with the ISC 3 years ago as an Imperial Knight and left to fight on the front lines then returning about a week ago, I have found in my returning a more political minded group of troopers that are more dedicated to LME and its citizens then before" and concluded with "I think the whole galaxy has felt a drop in numbers in all honesty as we have" We would like to thank the troopers of the ISC for allowing us in their base and talking to Star News. 

Speaking with Belutric Nasirii 

Belutric Nasirii had a lot to say when asked about the Hutt Cartel, Hutt Night,  Nar Shadda and the other Hutts. "Hania togo so tuda urjenk riti pas kara la, kong ol kalkat ari se, tugi do tikti" was his  responds when I asked about  the Hutt Cartel being on Tatooine. Which  is  interpreted as meaning, that  the Hutts being on  Little Mos  Eisley is not news. He said there has been many Hutts on Tatooine for 100s years.  His feelings about Hutt Night moving to LME was favorable.  He said,  "There are many Hutts and many worlds that we have influence over. The misinformed public have been like herded banthas at the meetings on Nar Shaddaa . It is obvious to others that trade has never been restricted to Hutt Night on Nar Shaddaa. I am glad to see more public business done away from that tarnished Jewel." 

He  also had this to say when asked how the other Hutts feel about the Hutt move." Well the Hutts that I speak with are all happy to see business actually grow . Rather than many of us losing credits as a result of total rubbish security and complete idiots lies claiming to protect Nar and business. The reality has only been a few fools sucking Hutt ass and doing nothing more ."Belutric The Hutt had this to say when  I asked him besides the Hutt Cartel, is there anything new going on for  the rest of the Hutt Clans.  "Business for the Hutts has simply moved away from Nar Shaddaa after Shaka was removed from the Hutt Council for her insults and it was made clear that Vern was simply an idiot telling her regular lies there was no reason for any business on Nar Shaddaa. It is good that the Hutts are standing together and turning their tails on any that claim to be advisor's or part of the Council when they are not . so what is new is it is now clear to any fool that believed otherwise that the Hutts stand together as always" 

Swoop Races Gain Speed 

Once more this week a  large crowd from all over the galaxy came to the dustball known as LME to either be in, bet on or simply take in some rays and watch the races. A larger group of racers showed up this week, including Mirongrass, Kanomi, Molokai Sharkfin, the infamous hell on a speeder Racer Z and an unknown blonde that is often seen around the streets of Mos Esiely working on stuff. Jengaz the Hutt of the Hutt Cartel dropped the checkered flag and they were off. With temperatures and speeds well over 100 the racers tore up the sandy down town streets of LME, making the food stand a dangerous place to be, barely missing buildings and certain death of themselves and onlookers to race for cash prizes and even more important, bragging rights. The results of the second weekly Swoop race were Mirongrass 1st, followed by Imperial Knight Captain Kanomi and Racer Z in 3rd. Everyone who avoided heat stroke and being ran over in the streets had a great time, making everyone a winner. The Swoop Races are a weekly event at 2pm slt on LME and open to all. 

Star News Issue 2.9 Volume 14 

Imperial Inquisition attack Onderon 

Imperial  Inquisition along side troopers for the Imperial Inquisition launched an invasion on Onderon. Samuel Draav commander of the Imperial trooper branch said  "The reason for the attack was because of the Clone's presence upon the planet. Our fleet has been watching this planet for sometime to make sure something like the clones moving into the planet, wouldn't go unnoticed."  Over all he said they made progress, although there was great loss on both sides.
 

I managed to talk to A'denla, ARC Trooper D-5104 on radio comm in middle of  fire fight with VL.  He said the Imperial Inquisition had tried to intimidate GAR into leaving the planet, only to be defeated by the Onderonian Coalition made up of Jedi, Mandalorians, and Clones alike. Currently we are sweeping the city looking for stragglers from the battle and engaging them when we find them. This particular patrol that I am in was ambushed by a group of three VL troopers and are currently in a firefight."

Levineff Orithine Praxis, High Father of the Vindicate Order of Onderon and Silas Ge'Kyrayc of Munit'kad fought two Lords of the Sith from the Serpentine Order, Led by Cyprus Talon, although they fought fiercly in the end they were overcome. The battle was great victory for Onderonian Coalition as they finally managed to drive off the Imperial Inquisition, for now at least. 

GAR helping with the regrowth of Onderon 

Talking to Commander 17002 on Onderon, He said, " From what I understand, Onderon has been rebuilding after a devastating plague.  However, I was not present for the plague and know little about it.  What I have been personally involved in has been the establishment of a Clone outpost here.  The G. A. R. has entered into a relationship with the government of Onderon in order to establish this outpost and to provide planetary security as Onderon rebuilds its population after the plague.  Due to recent upheaval on Bakura, this Onderon outpost has become G. A. R.'s primary outpost."

When asked,  what has GAR been doing to help with the rebuilding recovery so far.  The commander had this to say. "Well, we just established the outpost this past week but I do believe that already there has been a marked difference in the number of travelers making their way to Onderon which would suggest a heightened sense of safety in the general public.  The coming weeks will tell how our presence here is being accepted by the locals but I have high hopes for our relationship with Onderon."

From what the Commander has told me The outpost on Onderon  will be a permanent residence for GAR.  The Commander said: " If any change in the legitimacy of this outpost takes place it will be after further talks between the Queen and the G. A. R." 

Hutt Cartel starts business night 

What was once known as Hutt Night rolled into Little Mos Esiely this week under the new managemnet of the Hutt Cartel, renamed Hutt Cartel Night and under the watchful eye of Odominic and Besadii Clans. This dry hot night under the moon of Tatooine drew a huge crowd who came to either do business with the newly formed Hutt Cartel, mingle with the large crowd in attendence, or simply gawk and drink to the spectacle. The night was hosted by a guest host from Arcadia and other surprising guests join the Hutt Cartel up on stage as well including Shaka the Hutt's one time and perhaps current Majordomo Morrigan and an Unknown Hutt from the Hutt Council who remarked he was just their to observe. After the usual chaos that seems to surround these events the business began. Unlike most Hutt Nights in the past though, most of the speakers who came before the Hutt Cartel were encouraged to speak in depth privately about their buisness at the Hutt Cartel's palace on Nar Kreeta after they gave a brief summery of why they were there. This seems to be the new direction that Hutt Cartel Night is going to prevent secret dealings with the Hutts to be made public.I can however tell you some of the issues brought up were spice, artifacts, technology and of course food and bounties. Issulla of Odominic spoke up about the bounties and stated:"che tah con chuba jee-jee binggona beesga tah bootana coo boska che copah blastoh da soocha coo an du ateema ap-xmasi cheeka foo do doopee sa choy dobra beesga chone creeda"  Which translates roughly to: "For to long have we offered protection to people who carry price tags on thier heads from now on anyone with a bounty is fare game at these events", but agreed to speak with the person who came before the Cartel in private anyway. What any of these private meetings will come to, only time will tell, and perhaps the public will never know as a new blanket of secrecy surrounds teh Hutt Cartel and their actions.The only way to really know what was discussed at Hutt Cartel Night is to crowd into the Hotel located on Mos Esiely Saturdays at 6pm slt, or send a spy. 

Meeka D'Lux talks about the Rise of the Hutt Cartels 

I recently went to Nar Kreeta to talk to Odominic about some rumors that have been floating around the underworld and referred to as 'the Rise of the Hutt Cartel.'
 I was greeting by an Odominic spokes person named Meeka D'Lux and taken to a cantina like establishment called the Rusty Mynock where the interview took place.

After settling into the rustic bar, Meeka informed me that there is a lot she cannot comment on, but then went on to state that recently there has been a split with the Hutt Council, Odominic, Besadii and maybe one other Hutt Clan that the representative could not mention, and the outcome was the formation of a new group called The Hutt Cartel that would act independently of the Hutt Council while still retaining a weak and perhaps strained relationship with said council. One of the reasons Meeka stated for the split was the lack of activity by the Hutt Council, Meeka went on to say that the Cartel finds the Council guilty of being too set in its was, and too lethargic to grow anymore, calling it stagnate even.The Cartel will actively seek out new business dealings and recruits in order to grow and once more claim back the name as one of the defining factions of the galaxy.

Leading up the Hutt Cartel are some big names in Hutt history, Issulla Odominic and Jengaz Besadii to name a few, not to mention the return of another Hutt that is well known but Meeka would only give me that. When I asked if it was Belutric Nasirii... she only rolled her eyes and said "Please. Nasirii has the Hutt Council, I'm sure that is keeping him busy enough."

Then Meeka went on to state that there are big plans and changes in the works for the Hutt Cartel, but it is too early to say what or how they will effect the galaxy and the Hutt Council as it now exists, but for sure the Rise of the Hutt Cartel is one to watch. Tython's Under Quarantine from Virus of unknown Origin 

This Reporter was all in her NBC gear as she talked to  Psychotal Acker.   Acker said, " Well, we've had another outbreak, trying to work out where it came from, whether it's naturally occurring, or another biological attack by some Darth such as Darth Septus or similar. Think the local bookie's taking bets on that one."

I asked her what the  local government  trying to do to prevent the spread.  Acker said, " Well, everyone still has their gear from the last incident, so we haven't had to issue any NBC kit this time, infirmary's working up a vaccine, local Jedi are trying to work out whether it's naturally occurring or concocted, otherwise, Tython's a lovely place, pristine views, just remember to bring a respirator.  Travel from Tython is dependent on testing negative for the virus."

Acker's role on in protecting the citizens of Tython is varied and she said there no confirmed number of deaths and no confirmed number of those  who have been effect by the virus."  She said Tython's plans are to find out where the virus is coming from or who is responsible if anyone. She said, "I can't really comment until then, but if it's a natural virus, or if we can't find anything saying someone made it, then I suspect we'll just be issuing a vaccine and testing until we are confident it's safe to lift the quarantine." 

Need for speed at LME 

Hello race fans start your engines! Swoop race at little Mos Eisley. The first weekly LME Swoop Race turned out to be a great event,

drawing many spectators and racers from around the Galaxy. The famouse Racer Z was there to try her hand at first at the first place and grand prize of fame and cash. The racers raced around the tracks for 8 laps at ground breaking speeds under the binary suns of Tatooine.

Tosh ws first to cross the finish line followed by John Aar and Racer Z came in third. Racer Z congradulated the other racers but later confessed that she got hung up on a corner and almost crashed which perhaps cost her the race and prize money.

The LME Swoop Races are a weekly event on Little Mos Eisley every Sunday at 2pm slt. 

DJE says farewell to one of their own 

Padawan  Haden  sacrificed his life to help stop the Obelisk on Dantooine.  Many  of his  friends and fellow  knights  gather around to say their  final fianl farewell. Though I have  never met  Haden,  from the  remarks of his fellow knights, I can tell that he was great and honorable padawan and loved and I know  he will  be missed by the people of  Dantooine.  In the tradition  of  the  Jedi Knights  they honor him  with a traditional funeral pyre. 

Interview with KOJ Grandmaster Iria 

We sat real relaxed in her office.  My question to her was why did Kalway come to Yavin? There could have been any other place you could have started your enclave.  Why here?  Iria had a lot to say.   She said, " The basic history of our arrival on Yavin IV is described in our archives and by information presented at the welcome center on the station, so I won't repeat all that here.  The short version is that the Kalway Order on Kalway had to flee during one of the many Jedi Purges.  We could not stay on Kalway, and only four of us survived to escape.  We took our ship and fled.  We roamed the galaxy in hiding, keeping to ourselves, staying out of touch so as not to be discovered.  We weighed our options and one day sitting in some deserted asteroid belt, we recalled Master Skywalker establishing the New Jedi Order enclave on Yavin IV after the Battle for Yavin.  We carefully made our way here, hoping against hope we would find refuge, and possibly serve such an important enclave...  But when we finally arrived, all we found was devastation.  Obviously some years before, the moon had been bombarded from space, we presumed by the sith.  This was later confirmed as we discovered a secret chache of holo recordings buried beneath the Old Temple ruins...According to what we could retrieve from those aging files, we learned that it was the sith who attacked from orbit, however, the jedi inhabitants had ample warning and time to evacuate, so thankfully none of them were harmed.  To this day, the New Jedi Order enclave is still located on Tython where they have been ever since.  The four of us were heartbroken at what we found.  The place was practically lifeless.  Unable to continue running and hiding, supplies running low, we decided to stay.  We made it our mission to restore Yavin IV, salvage what was left of our Order from Kalway, and rebuild the jedi academy anew.  We have spent all these years doing just that, and I believe we have been successful.  The four of us who founded the Kalway Enclave on Yavin IV, was myself, then only a Knight; my padawan Micha who  had just been knighted; Master Moonsoo who was the master who trained me, and Master Elswit.  The four of us, so long ago now, bonded here on this moon and formed a new enclave and named it in  honor of what was lost on Kalway, so that we and others might never forget, that we will forever remember just what it is we fight for."
